Nope and don't need to
<bungee looks out window, contemplates where and why he would be slaughtering his own food amid well over 20 million people>
Quick somebody find the clip from the Rush Hour movies where Chris Tucker rescues the chicken!
That should be it but I can't check the link since Youtube is blocked here.
Do I know how? Yes, but that's Pink's domain.
With COVID-19 making its impact on our lives, I have decided that I shall hang in there for my remaining days, skip some meals, try to get children to experiment with making henna patterns on their skin, and plant some trees. You know -- live, fast, dye young, and leave a pretty copse. I feel like I may not have that quite right.
No reason to 'learn' how to kill and clean (gut) an animal. It's not rocket science. If I ever get lost in the middle of nowhere, I'll do it. Luckily I live in a civilised country where we don't have to hunt, kill and clean our own animals. Instead, we have people who do that no brains job and people who get an education and do something else useful for society. Without specialisation, humanity would not be where it is now. We'd still all be hunter/gatherers.
I know how to collect edible fruits or slaughter brokkoli, cucumber and potatoes
I also milked a cow once.
FOMO: "Fear Of Missing Out", also commonly known as people with a mental issue of managing time and activities, many expecting others to fit into their schedule so they don't miss out on things to come. If FOMO becomes a problem for you, do seek help, it can be a very unhealthy lifestyle..
I know how to do it but i have no wish to ever do it myself
I love animals though iam not a vegetarian
Oh yeah, quoting someone makes people looks smart and all, but let's really dive into that one. That quote is referring to a character archtype. A character whom if he/she came into contact with any particular task as the writer sees fit, he could accomplish it, like butchering a hog. Heinlein's talking about the type of character who will be competent in whatever setting the story is in. He is not proclaiming every competent man needs to know how to butcher a hog.
Now, the reality here is there's quite a lot of things to learn in the world and not enough time in our mortal lives to do it all. I'm putting "butchering a hog" below many other things, like playing the piano or flying a plane.

I can catch and prepare fish, but never butchered ant land-animals.
In a pinch I could definitely get meat out of an animal, but I'd waste a some and ruin the quality due to not knowing how to do it properly.
Your dad was an insecure man child whose masculinity got threatened too easily. Can you imagine the horror if you or your sister turned out to be better hunters than him? Rofl!
I grew up around forestry and hunting in Europe and have fond memories of it too. Hunting parties consisted of both men and women and I have never heard sexist nonsense like that, ever.
I share your sentiment about the whole thing. Not many opportunities in the Chicago area. Maybe, someday...
I don't eat meat so yeah I know how to pick vegetables.
I'm sure I could learn while doing it. Just like sex and riding a bike.
Yeah there are a lot of female Alaskan hunters in my home state growing up, I know my dad's statements/behaviors were pretty unusual. I have a few female friends interested in learning to shoot/hunt so we are talking about taking some classes together and maybe planning a trip after that.
