EDIT: Also, funny that the reality was they were just using instagram and social media as a cover to make it seem like a vacation. The judge was actually completely wrong in their assumptions, how about that?

It was an empty picture of a race track. As it most likely would be if all the speed racers were baked out of their minds.

Bonus for the comment about their response to the comment about no connection between drugs and instagram featuring racing despite there being no connection between weed and getting things done really fast.

I don't see how instagram has anything to do with this other than the fact that they were incredibly stupid to draw any extra attention for themselves in the process of smuggling. It's a poorly designed medium for attention whoring personality types, and those personas aren't limited to a specific generation.

Transporting drugs in and of itself does not hurt or infringe upon the rights of anyone. Assaulting people, robbing people, murdering people, those things are all directly harmful, and already illegal.

The idea is that you shouldn't restrict the directly harmless action associated with directly harmful actions, because the directly harmful actions are already restricted.

The asinine thing is that they only got 4 and 8 years in jail for what amounts to a trunk full of coke. They shouldve been sentenced to life. That amount of coke would probably kill 1000 people. But then again this is Australia where they dont like to hold people accountable for themselves. When they get out, they will probably be given a free place to live and $2500 a month until and if they ever get a job too

You really shouldn't throw stones as an American. When Australia had a gun massacre problem they fixed it. The USA has drug problems, gun problems, well the list is as long as my arm and they are tackling them all ineptly at best. Long term incarceration achieves what? Pretty much nothing.
