Yet the stance of the APA THE BOARD OF PSYCHIATRIST, says 5%.
So like I said you are using the few to judge the many the stance of the APA and the CDC is 5% if you want to keep throwing around your foolish 15% argument because some people said 15% well... it only makes you look foolish and no one else.
The article is fucking lazy, a quick google search leads you to the board's feelings (5%) and the official stance of our government health agency (CDC) at 5% yet this random story says "American blah blah" it is sensationalism and I do take issue with the article because it is well sensationalism, and if you continue to believe the article despite both groups refuting the article then that's a you problem.
GG thread about a bit disturbing stuff in China turns into a ADHD rant.
P.S. ADHD is more common then you think. I grew up in the learning disability community, so I should know.

It's a stupid idea, honestly I as a kid with ADHD (unmedicated, never medicated as a child) I would have not been able to constantly focus on some shitty thing making sure I'm making eye contact. Even now I can't just look at one thing in a general area for longer than say a minute or so before it feels like the entire room is moving around me like i'm on a ship.
Hey OP, maybe you should include the picture posted with the article, rather than one that shows up on google with the search of "terrifying chinese classroom" and is with an entirely different article for an entirely different classroom.
Here's the article that goes with OP's picture by the way: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/arti...ose-books.html
Tackling mental health on a large scale in any meaningful way would take too much money, time and energy. These are things most people don't really give a second thought to until it affects them personallly . Ever notice how someone only becomes a heavy advocate or financier of a particular cause when it hits close to home ?
More so to develop better methods to punish people who seemingly think of their dictator looking like Winnie the Pooh, or not respecting the national anthem or whatever bullshit. But hey, it's china. More control, more rules, more punishment, disregard if it makes any sense or not. The government must control what people think, or even better, may think and could have thought. It's like the concept of Minority Report, but just running on a software that has been specified a typical dictator with rough childhood and developed by a bunch of illiterate idiots. On crack. Welcome to China.
Wow, it'll suck if you have ADHD. I feel bad for them!

[...] we have an intolerance for ideas and evidence that don’t fit a certain ideology. I’m also not saying that we should restrict people to certain gender roles; I’m advocating for quite the opposite: treat people as individuals, not as just another member of their group (tribalism)..
All it needs to complete this system is a set of droids with electric whips standing in each classroom.
The bar is the worst part. I was a good student overall but for crying out loud let me have a nap once in a while when I'm done with my work. I need it to recharge.
Or as a kid if I got too stressed I needed to leave the classroom or I'd have a mental breakdown. How am I supposed to do that when I'm pinned down like a freaking animal?
I'm just putting myself in the position of those poor kids. They're not treating them like humans.
Inattentive Fear detected. Administering electric countermeasures *bzzt*.

Wow. Thanks for the update.
The picture was from a description of a pilot program of putting the bars there to keep children from putting their heads - mainly their eyes - too close to the paper they write on. Apparently, China has an epidemic of short sightedness in high school students, according to the comments after the article, that were written by authors that claim to be Chinese. And the idea of this is to protect the eyesight of Chinese children.
This may or may not be a good idea. However, the picture has nothing at all to do with what the OP claimed it did.
