Recommend me a Android Tablet that can run OSRS at or near 60FPS for under $200.

Like the title says recommend me a Android Tablet that can run OSRS(Old School Runescape) at or near 60FPS for under $200.

I am currently using a Amazon Fire HD8 and I get on average 20-30fps depending what I am doing. Anything with a lot of stuff on screen tanks it to around 10-15 fps.

    My current tablets spec's is
    CPU: MediaTek MT8163V/B (64-bit quad-core) ARM Cortex-A53 (1.3 GHz)
    GPU: ARM Mali-T720 MP2
    RAM: 1.5 GB
    Android Version: 5.1, 22
Just looking for a much smoother experience even if its on average 40fps. Cheaper the better and it needs to have a decent battery life, my current tablet's battery life is around 6 hours playing OSRS.

I thought those were recalled because they were literally catching on fire? Or was that a different Shield tablet?

I'm no expert on Tablets, but I have a feeling you are going to need to spend more than $200 for what you're looking for (unless you are willing to go the used route). I know Samsung makes about the best Android tablet on the market in the Galaxy Tab S3, but it's definitely over $200 brand new.

    get that 300 ASUS one.

    https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01MATMXZV..._t4_B0171BS9CG

newer faster processor (Cortex 1.3 VS Cortex 2.1) more RAM (4GB) Android 6.0, 2k display and probably a better GPU. Sure you gotta dip a little more but on paper it looks good.
We're all newbs, some are just more newbier than others.

Xiaomi Mi Pad 4 (SD 660) or Teclast Master T8 (MT8176).

I'd get the Mi Pad 4 ofc.

How much of a improvement do you guys think this would be.

    https://www.amazon.com/Lenovo-Androi...enovo+-+Tab4+8
    https://www.gsmarena.com/lenovo_tab_4_8-8602.php

    Quad-core Snapdragon 425 processor 1.4 GHz, https://www.qualcomm.com/products/sn...processors/425
    Qualcomm® Adreno™ 308 GPU
    2GB LPDDR3 sRam
Its clock speed is about the same as my amazon tablet (Tablet is 1.3Ghz) but its a much newer processor and should just be all around better in both CPU/GPU. Just wondering is all, I haven't bought anything yet and still mite just say screw it and save up for a Nvidia Shield.

GPU seems to be better from what I can find. I don't know much about tablet hardware and just came across it lol.

Whatever you go for, just make sure there's a vibrant community of people who make custom roms. At some point the tablet maybe just fine but the software gets out of date really fast.

    Will do thanks.

I know very little about tablet hardware and looking to get a decent upgrade over my current tablet. Ill likely just get a Nvidia Shield since that seems like a huge boost over what I got now and you can fully update its android version it seems.

Nvidia shield is a good choice, plus there is a huge development community behind it. Quick look shows Oreo 8 along with LineageOS 15 already ported over to it.
    https://forum.xda-developers.com/shi...et/development

Which is good cause Nvidia said they'll never update it to Android 8.
    https://www.androidpolice.com/2017/1...ablet-k1-oreo/

Oddly enough I'm about to update the software in my Android stereo which is stuck using 5.1.1. The community updated it to 7.1.

    A bit of a update.

I won't be getting a Nivida Shield because it seems for whatever reason the client isn't working on any Tablet using a Terga CPU...

So now I'm kinda back to square one.

At this point just a stable 30FPS would be nice since in high demanding area's it runs anywhere from 5-15fps all the time. $200 is the max I want to spend because anything higher and ill just buy a laptop.

    (New or Used).

Mi Pad 4 pre-sale, 188€ (around $220 I guess) with TABERNA188 coupon. You can find coupons in Telegram groups.

    - 8" FullHD
    - Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 MSM8976 Plus
    - Antutu: 130000
    - 3GB RAM | 32GB | SD
    - 13 Mpx | f/2
    - 6000 mAh

I think it's worth the wait. If you can't, then the Teclast Master T8 is good as well. Here's a review.

I'm sure you already know this, but OSRS caps at 50 FPS.

With that said, I'd check out the Asus ZenPad or the Samsung Galaxy Tab if you're willing to spend a bit more.

Edit: You may be able to find a used ZenPad in your budget on CL or FB Marketplace.

The Mobile Client can actually do 60FPS. They said once the Mobile client is out of beta they will be moving it over to to desktop (performance wise).

I got a cheap china knockoff tablet coming that should run it and it will be kinda fun to have a tablet that does both Windows and Android.
TECLAST TPad X98 Plus II. Got it much cheaper then it retails for and from a US seller so ill give that a go. Ill have it by friday

If I do need to get another one in the future ill keep both of those in mind. I did look at the Zen Pad a few times.

I keep seeing everyone is having the same problem, It opens to a black screen and nothing else. If and when I can see it running on a shield ill buy one.

Wish they would go into open beta already so I we get a better testing pool.

Considering its not even in open beta, eventually it'll work on Tegra chips. I doubt Nvidia would allow that to go on for too long, let alone the developers.

Agreed that's why I'm going to wait and see what others are running it on.

I got a TECLAST TPad X98 Plus II cheap and it will be here in a couple days so ill look forward to running it on that. Will be kinda neat to have a tablet that Dual boots Android and Windows.

I don't expect anything magical but hardware wise it is a step up from my amazon tablet lol.

I really hate how radio silent they have been about OSRS Mobile since the "always open" beta started.
