What is your favourite comedy movie?

Hot Fuzz.

I mean there are a ton of others that I really enjoy but if I had to pick a single favorite it would absolutely be Hot Fuzz. We are so lucky to have someone like Edgar Wright making movies these days. In a world where comedy movies are almost entirely made up of Judd Apatow style, just sit the camera down and let a few funny people impov for hours an hours and then cut that into a somewhat complete narrative, it is so nice to see actual constructed jokes with actual set-ups and punch-lines.

A springboard for Ice Cube and Chris Tucker. Just a simple movie about 2 guys handing out on a poach as life happens around them.

I don't watch a ton of pure comedies, so my list is gonna be pretty small since I'm excluding horror comedies like the Evil Dead movies, Tremors, and Return of the Living Dead.

So, for pure comedies:

Uncle Buck

Abbott and Costello movies(with Hold That Ghost and Meet Frankenstein being faves)
The Burbs

The Naked Gun series

Pretty much all the Leslie Nielson movies..

You mean after he started doing comedy He used to be a drama actor, and then one studio wanted to make a comedy but rather than getting comedy actors, they got drama actors to act as serious as possible when delivering the jokes.
And thus Leslie Nielson became a comedy actor!

Groundhog Day
