Allied races locking purpose is to make more $ through race changes and boosts

There is no other explanation, let's be honest, someone could just unlock these races through finishing the storyline and even then that would be too much, there is absolutely no reason to lock them, it doesn't make sense lore wise either, the rep farm for these particular factions is really really bad, world questing for several weeks on argus is a hell. If you got to the point where you actually managed to unlock them then the expansion would already have advanced enough and you will probably not want to start from zero lvl so you will either pay for a boost or a race change = more money for blizzard.

The Flaw in that is Heritage Armor. You need to level one out from scratch to get it. That actually keeps me from boosting.

Blizzard is in it to make easy money? NO WAY!

Very bright future ahead of you!

Sooo.. locking Allied Races through rep and questlines is to make more money through race changes/boosts and introducing new races isn't? Normal race start at 1 (not 20), is available from start (so more opportunity to race change at the start of expac when we have lot of people) and there are no special rewards for levelling it manually (so more opportunity to boost).

Or you just don't want new races in general? I am lost.

How is that any different from adding new races? If you're going to skip the leveling process, you were going to do it whether the unlock is required or not. If it were purely about money they wouldn't disable boosted characters from getting the heritage armor.

Or people could just have more patience and control over their wallets and just level them the slow way.
I've so far got a max level for all four Legion Allied Races without needing to pay for boosts or race changes. I'm starting to level my Dark Iron Dwarf now after I unlocked them last night. Haven't unlocked Mag'har orcs yet though.
It's not Blizzard's fault people are too lazy to actually play the game.

Oh quit complaining, it literally takes about 3 weeks to unlock Void Elves, and they are the hardest allied race to unlock by far (and the most beautiful, to be fair).
The Void. A force of infinite hunger. Its whispers have broken the will of dragons... and lured even the titans' own children into madness. Sages and scholars fear the Void. But we understand a truth they do not. That the Void is a power to be harnessed... to be bent by a will strong enough to command it. The Void has shaped us... changed us. But you will become its master. Wield the shadows as a weapon to save our world... and defend the Alliance!

They used to be in it because they were passionate about the game.

You mean - just like the reason they put top end gear behind mythic raids is to get as much money out of people as possible by forcing them to get good enough to defeat mythic bosses.

I mean seriously - if they just put high end gear behind WQs - we would be able to complete this game far quicker and not have to pay blizzard as much money.

    /sarcasm.

Challenge Mode : Play WoW like my disability has me play:
You will need two people, Brian MUST use the mouse for movement/looking and John MUST use the keyboard for casting, attacking, healing etc.
Briand and John share the same goal, same intentions - but they can't talk to each other, however they can react to each other's in game activities.
Now see how far Brian and John get in WoW.

Yea very true but I guess you missed the switch from making good stuff that makes a whole lot of money to just making a whole lot of money..

It happens with pretty much every company in the world.

Just look at phones, used to be made strong and durable now they make them in a way that breaks the most screens so they can make more money on overpriced easy repairs.

3 weeks of endless world questing?

Op; no, its not. If they wanted to make more money, they would give them out. Having them locked means people cant access them to race change right away. Then you have heritage armor that is detrimental to a boost. They did it to reward the rep grind for once.

Absolutely. In the past new races were available right from the get-go, so you were max level with your new character (and appropriately geared) for when the raids were available. In BfA though, you first have to grind all the new content and the reputation in order to have access to these new races so you can create a new character just so you can do it all again! A lot of my friends just instantly race changed after unlocking them, as Uldir is just around the corner and they cba with the elongated leveling experience.

Also, the same reason is also behind why they will release the allied races slowly over time. You bet that the Zandalari and Kul Tiran Humans will be behind some exalted rep that you first have to grind on your other character. Same profit margin right there.

The game is so much about minigames and micro-transactions nowadays. It is blatant.

The allied races don't ensure that. The same thing is said about any race. Some people will instantly change to them so they don't have to level them from 1 and are already starting the game in a good spot on them. Especially if they want to keep reps and other things on that one character

    MMORPGs are a dying genre.
WoW has endured because they implemented modern ways to keep people playing.

Of course they want to make money, they are not doing a game for the gratification of other people happiness. Blizzard is a company, and a company will always want to sell. You have to be fully aware of this if you want to keep playing.

Also, stop paying for a game if you are not enjoying it. As with every other aspect of your life, you can't force yourself to like something. That's not how it works.

Race change, Faction change, but mostly Sub time. Every structure in this game has gone towards "buy as much as sub time" and it's been working, except I feel like they're making it waaaaay too obvious and not subtle at all, which is annoying as hell.

As opposed to three weeks of endless circle-jerk of the forums?

You don't want to put efforts into allied races? Then you won't get to play them. Deal. With. It. You can't have your cake and eat it too.

Besides, you had exactly one year to get to exalted with the Argus factions.
