I think the SPLC had it's heart in the right place once upon a time, but has sort of tainted itself. While I would generally trust it, I do try to find other sources first.

It's mainly because of the labeling of Maajid Nawaz and Quilliam. Granted, they settled and backed off eventually; it's that whole eventually thing and the idea that he could even be considered a hate preacher, etc in the first place is ridiculous.

Eh. Are we supposed to be tolerant of people who align with Nazis? People who stripped Jewish people and others of their rights, put them in camps, and systematically murdered them? No. It's not OK to use violence but it's also not OK to expect people to be tolerant of those views, white supremacist/neo-Nazi views by definition are not tolerant and are dangerous. Most people should be against these sort of beliefs.

The problem with both Antifa (which is a loose collection of individuals and is not an organized group, despite what Fox News says) and "Proud Boys" is that you have a mix of ideologies on both sides and individuals on both sides looking for a fight, so it muddies the water in relationship to motivation and behavior.

Definitely not tolerant. But. Let the system work. Let's work within the system.

I don't think that's what he said, but he does have a point that it's alt-right groups heading to liberal areas and not vice versa. There were a handful of protests in the South from left wing activists but that's it.
