Sitting at a PC all day develops agoraphobia symptoms in some people.
There is absolutely nothing new about crowded stores/venues, so if you have a problem with being inside them, you need to seek help or avoid them.

99% of the time I don't care about what peoples kids do unless they're directly hindering me or personally trying to bother me. It's not a problem to me. You will not and you cannot care 24/7 365 days a year about what your kids are doing. It's not humanly possible.
Of course there are parents that are idiots and their kids behave accordingly, but for me they're an exception not the rule and I'm not so petty as to go around making a big deal about it either.

Respect is important, good behavior when called for is important, but kids will also be kids. So a child being energetic or possibly loud before a parent corrects them is perfectly fine in my world.
It was more-so meant as a question of "do your kids know the time and place to behave" than whether a kid wants to eat lobster mac-n-cheese and wagyu sliders, followed by filet mignion and a nice bottle of red.

I've never seen any parent's kids do anything other than throw a screaming fit because they didn't get what they wanted, in any store.

And yes, at the end of the day no-one but a parent will understand a kid will be a little human at any time of the day, anywhere.

if you hate that as a shopper you'll hate it even more as a retail worker.

It's like people lose all sense of their surrounding as soon as they set foot in a store and they al suddenly become massive a-holes.

What's even causing this? I always try to be friendly and let people through, but no one else seems to do this. Not even old ladies.

Are your experiences as bad as mine?

maybe you need to learn to relax, have some patience, and not make such a big deal out of everything. i actually quite enjoy shopping. dont be such a stick in the mud.

"hurr durr, a polite 'excuse me' is fine. i've never had a problem asking people to move."

Yea, that's cute. That's the patience level of someone who rarely experiences an aisle block.

You live in an area like mine (close to NYC), you would not believe the amount of fuckery you have to tolerate on a daily basis. Patience? LOL. Not here, buddy.

Stay in your lane and stay the fuck out of people's way when you need to stop. We're all shopping here too, you're not the most precious little snowflake in the store. Move the fuck outta my way.

No. In fact I find people to be surprisingly self-conscious about whether or not they are blocking the aisle. Sometimes it happens just by sheer volume of people in the aisle, but that's just going to be a thing. Shop at off-peak hours to avoid it.

I rarely see kids outside of the cart seat and rarely are they making any kind of disruption, and I can't remember if I have ever been hit by somebody else's cart.

Not a bitter sociopath. I have a gf, good job, nice apt, lots of friends.

What I don't have is any tolerance whatsoever for people who don't either 1)control their spawn when they are out in public or 2) keep them home until they are old enough to shut up and be still when told.

The best children are those who don't move from their parents' side or make a noise unless told to. Most modern parents want to be their kid's friend. That is a mistake.

I don't know how familiar you are with the United States Marine Corps. My father was a Marine. He's passed away now. When I was small, as soon as I could understand English, if I did not 100% obey him, I got the crap kicked out of me. This included being quiet and still when in public. I got tired of it after a bit, so I did as I was told, without fail.

"Kids are kids" is a mantra of a lazy, inconsiderate parent.

I don't want "rights over you or your kids". I want people to leave me alone and stay out of my way. If they do, I will give them the same courtesy.

Here is the most important thing I ever learned from my father: "Boy, whatever you do, wherever you are, just don't bother people. Do everything you can to avoid making your problems someone else's problems too. Handle your own crap."

I actually love grocery shopping. I find it relaxing and fun, but I also prefer to go in the morning/afternoon. There are rarely parents with tons of kids, not too many old people, and the aisles are wide.

The only time I get frustrated is when there are tons of old people around. We have a service that shuttles the elderly around town to get to where they need to be. Lord forbid you go to the grocery store when that little bus drops by.

As for kids, I never have a problem with them. Often I end up hearing the funniest things out of their mouths. Once I saw a toddler smelling shampoo and he said, "It smells like a sandwich ta eat!". It was adorable and precious
I do get annoyed by their shitty parents. Shitty parents are worse than shitty kids.

I quite enjoy shopping. I just dislike the crowds. I order online when I can - and these days even a lot of specialist stores deliver right to my door.

Memorize the layout of the store.

Get in, get your shit, and get out.

    My shopping takes five minutes.

I shop at Walmart in metro Detroit, and have never ran into those issues except maybe the blocking the aisle.

Wow. That’s what makes you hate humanity? Not the terrorism, sexism, racism, violence, or indifference to those in peril, but people blocking the isle in grocery stores? Okay.
    change can't wait.

Not in my experience. I sense more entitlement, self-importance and indifference to having something blocking a path. Average people seem more apologetic but dumb.

But I also get more politeness from those people. I haven't had any issues when shopping at Wegman's, even when that place is packed. Now, if I go to Wal-Mart... Efff that place.
