I'm saying "think of the children" is a rhetorical device. Children who were actually shot at aren't rhetorical.

Edit- Unless your argument is that they don't actually believe what they are saying and are just puppets in all of this. I tend to not think of people as that ignorant.

I was talking with someone about humor and how I don't think any joke has ever really offended me, and then the next day this happens. I really tried to analyze the "humor" here, and see whether it goes over my head. After a lot of thinking I concluded that there probably is some frustration that older individuals feel about millennials, and thus jokes like these might be actually funny to some people.

Personally I still don't see the humor in these "jokes", all I hear is someone bitching directly without even trying to wrap it in a joke. I wouldn't say it offended me either, as I am no comedian but I'm sure you could make jokes about those kids that are actually funny. The weirdest part for me were the people cackling with laughter in the background, and I would find it genuinely interesting to hear them explain exactly how they found it funny.

and going back to my comment, Trump literally has no idea of anything, and yet he's always twitting like he's an expert. But as mentioned they aren't in front of congress of statistical experts, or legislative writers but as witnesses.

I think it doesn't honestly help the conversation and they are being used as media props. I do not doubt their sincerity I just don't see them as a argument for something.

Calling them media props takes away their agency and says that they don't want to do this, they are being used for some nefarious purpose or some gain other than their own. They did this on their own. No one is using them. It's a false claim to say otherwise and an attempt to de-legitimize them as tools of some greater conspiracy.

That's so depraved. Would you ever do that to your co-workers? Workers you are not dating. Would you go to them and say "come to my office and watch me jerk off" and mean it?

Because he did. On what planet is that acceptable professional behavior?
the hilarious thing is if this had happened to a daughter of ANY of those that excuse his behaviour they would have sought them out and kicked their ass.

    Me - just now.
Yes that has been a know fake quote. But the hilarious thing is you are pulling that quote wich is using Snopes as factchecker and suddenly Snopes is a "approved" factchecker. but ofcourse only when they on rare cases are in favour of Trump

Totally agree with him. Almost a year later and every week in Florida they talk about the parkland shooting on the news. Guess what? I wasn't affected by it, so i couldn't care less. That's not me being an awful person, that's just human nature, it's the way the world works.

Plenty of people care about things that don't effect them. There's a whole word for it. It's called empathy. And yea, lacking it can make you an awful person to a degree. Only caring about things that personally effect you is the definition of selfish. That's only undeniable human nature to selfish people that can't imagine another way of being.

You can have empathy, but also still think caring about jokes is stupid.

I agree, but was it funny?
First of all, your question is one of personal taste and impossible to answer. It is like asking is blue is a good color.

Secondly, explaining a joke is a bit like dissecting a frog. No one is all that interested and the frog dies.

A joke needs to be funny. That was not.

Humans are not magical erratic creatures; there is an entire science dedicated to understanding why we do what we do. Finding a question difficult or uninteresting does not mean it is impossible to answer or uninteresting to anyone other than yourself. Often saying nothing, listening and learning is wiser than making assumptions and generalizations.

    Ok then, describe humor...and GO!

He said a joke in a set, I heard that's a thing comedians do on occasion.

Some people found it unfunny, some clearly did judging from the laughter in the clip.

People have differing opinions on comedy, more news at 11.

No. While it is a fascinating topic, I have no interest in discussing or sharing definitions and theories of humor with you, of which there are many both from the field of psychology and philosophy that you can research on your own. And while exploring definitions of humor is certainly interesting, as I quite clearly typed out before I just want to understand what people found funny about the quoted routine. Not everyone is capable of such introspection, but there is a good chance some people that did find it funny are.

True. But it's kind of ironic that no one bats an eye when Japan and China do it. It's only when white people do it.
