No she’s an idiot. We should not be punishing people because they work hard and are successful. Now what I do support is stripping congress members like her of wages until they give Trump his 5B for the border wall/barrier and get the government opened back up.

So... You don't want to "punish" people by taxing them... But you also want to deny pay to the people who DON'T want to waste $5 billion of taxpayer money on a useless partisan project?

Those two statements feel very much at odds with each other.

Green energy is getting cheaper over time at an astounding rate.
Colleges are, for the most part, expensive because the government stopped funding them. An educated citizenry is good for the country.
Single payer would pay for itself; note how countries with UHC have much lower medical costs than the US.
All of these are good ideas that would benefit the country far more than putting more money in the pockets of the rich.
    Happy to help.

He promised Mexico would pay for it, so no, he hasn’t kept his promise.

At that point you might as well get rid of legislators and give him a crown. Do people not think at all? Is our government so poorly understood?

It is not the job of Congress to keep the president's promises.

Especially when anyone with a half a working brain could see it as a typical campaign lie.

It will pay for itself on the long run, in the mean time someone has to cough up 32 trillion dollars and the 70% marginal tax rate wont even cover a fraction of that. But this is not the thread for that. Just for how poorly planned the green new deal is or that the 70% tax rate will fund it.

If you only wanted to talk about the GND, why did you bring up everything else? Free college and UHC are not part of the GND, though they are progressive goals. And sorry that the freshman Congressman doesn't have a finely-detailed 2000-page document for her broad plan that would by necessity go through numerous changes as it goes along, but I can guarantee that she put more thought into it than Trump did his precious wall.

They absolutely are part of the gnd.

The gnd is every leftist cause bundled in one. How will it be done? Who knows? Why is a UBI there? Who knows?

For being such an advanced country the United States treats their populace pretty poorly.

Trickle down economics is bullocks - its been tried for the last 4 decades and it hasn't worked. Things have gotten worse.

Try starting from the bottom and lifting everyone up.

I'm sure most 1st world countries would have no problems implementing (or already implemented) the proposals she is making. But for some reason the US is so capitalist driven you can't see that the status quo is slowly making your society worse.

And yet he comes forth with 'nobody knew health care could be so complicated', after talking shit throughout his whole campaign. Oh wait, that hasn't ended yet.
