I haven't eaten at KFC in China, but I did in McD. It's not a thing worth replicating. Their menu is mostly the same as in other countries (or at least Poland and Russia, where I have eaten in McD), they have some unique stuff, mostly the sauces, but the core of burgers, nuggets and fries can't really change.... The worst thing is, it is EXPENSIVE. A set of a burger, mid-size fries, coke and a couple of nuggets is almost 50 yuan, which doesn't seem much when translated to dollars or any western currency (would be some 8 dollars, 7 euros or 25PLN), but it is one hell of expensive for China.... It's a fast-food, not an actual restaurant, and frankly, actual restaurants can be cheaper, too.

I travel to China for work frequently and I agree completely about McDonalds. My Chinese co-workers took me there once (I guess to try to accommodate me for being American), and after that I told them I only want Chinese food. Its the same shit @ McD, and too expensive relative to other options. Your RMB go so much further and the food is so much better when you eat at a legit restaurant, and a lot of them do delivery. Chinese app food purchasing puts Grub Hub and Uber Eats to shame.

That seems nuts to me. Anyone know if the quality of KFC is higher in Japan/China?

Speaking to KFC in China, It's about the same as far as I can tell. It always seems slightly better to me over there, but I'm pretty sure that's because I've gone a couple of weeks without western food by the time I eat it and my standards are pretty low at that point.

Yeah, that's the problem I have with homemade fried chicken. It's tasty but making just enough for yourself feels like a lot of wasted effort towards preparation and making enough to feed a group takes too much damned time and effort. I still do it occasionally from time to time though because fried chicken.

Exactly! You know whats up! I mostly just bake chicken for myself anymore with butter/garlic salt/pepper/etc, hot sauce, or lemon pepper

we should cut all companies out of china, sanction anyone trying to do business with them.

isolate them, and let them crumble from within.

china has trained its citizens to not want exceptional products. that's what communism does, makes you learn to love mediocrity. now with mobile gaming being huge in china, that mediocrity is being forced on us westerners because western game devs, like blizzard, are bending over backwards to cater to that, because they know it's cheap and a million mindless zombies will gobble it all up because they've had their humanity stripped.

It's curious... Ireland has close ties to USA, and while my early years I grew up in Malaysia where there was A&W, Carl's Junior, Dunkin Donuts, Granny Smith's, White Castle, Etc Etc all those don't exist here in Ireland...

Though there's McDonald's, Burger King, KFC, Domino's, Pizza Hut, TGIF, Five Guys, Subway and Starbucks here.
