i mean, they're pretty different shows really. ren and stimpy is the only surrealist cartoon to ever get surrealism right.

space ghost was a funny mock-late night show. the brack show was good too, more comparable to ren and stimpy.

And I mean the original Spongebob, not the shit it turned into in like 2005.
people will swear up and down that spongebob's the same or better now.

it's beyond me to understand people like that. everything is different, down to spongebob's design as a character. it's so damn bad.

CN was the "kids" channel, Nick was the "teens" channel

I grew up on CN in the 90' and it was the best . I got a sneak peak here an there of Nickelodeon. I don't even want to imagine the rest.

I don't remember when I first discovered Cartoon Network but I feel like I always kinda walked the line between the 2 networks. I have fond memories of Nick shows but I have just as many with Cartoon Network. I probably was watching Nick first but as a kid I had no concept of time so I really don't know when I was watching either of them. I tend to like more of the Cartoon Network shows over the years though. I think they are just fresher in my mind though. If I had a full list side by side it might be harder.

When we got cable TV here in England I preferred Cartoon Network over Nickelodeon, but then I'm also old enough to remember he joy of watching TCC too. Ren and Stimpy, Earthworm Jim and Battletech yo, absolutely amazing cartoons.

Double Dare was the only thing I enjoyed on Nick, but that was the late 80s. I remember watching Toonami a decade later and enjoyed it for what it was before moving on.

funny stuff i remember growing up with a mix of WB and hanna barbera cartoons, and i was a 90s kids, cable came on late 90s/early 2000s to my country lol. but, between CN and nicks, nicks had better quality cartoons overall

My cable package growing up didn't have Cartoon Network growing up so Nick all the way. I wasn't terribly picky back then, plop me in front of a cartoon and I was good. Avatar: The Last Airbender was a big standout of my childhood though.
