Plurality has to do with the number of choices.

Like, if you asked 1 million people what their favorite food is and offered 100 possible choices, pizza might get 4% of the vote but would be the most popular option.

Well, yes. The point is that this poll shows that the "majority" don't want tinkers and that's true, but if we did a poll asking tinker/necromancer/dark ranger/dragonsworn/nothing. The 56% would be split up among all those other options and would more than likely make tinker the plurality.

Currently, just over 56% of people have said no, they do NOT want tinker added. There is no mention of adding a different class at all, so please stop embarrassing yourselves by talking about other classes.

Currently, only 43% of people has said that Yes, they do want Tinker added. There is nothing more to extrapolate from this data, and you can take from it whatever you like, but to suggest it has anything to do with dark rangers, Necros, or any other class based on this data alone is completely false.

Potion-making is not alchemy. There is alchemy in potion-making and potion-making in alchemy, but they aren't the same thing.

Yes, they are. Potion-making is to alchemy what pediatrics and neurology are to the field of medicine. They're parts of the whole. If you are partaking in potion making, then you are partaking in alchemy. If you are partaking in transmutation, then you are partaking in alchemy.

Don't recall any potion-making in FullMetal Alchemist and don't recall any alchemy in Sabrina the Teenage Witch.

The show Fullmeteal Alchemist focuses solely on the transmutation aspect of alchemy. I never watched Sabrina, but I imagine they have brewn some kind of potion at some point in the show, hence there is alchemy there. And it is mentioned a transmutation thing there, so, yes, there is alchemy in the Sabrina show.

No, they're not. Potion-making is a part of alchemy, like the group of prime numbers is part of the group of natural numbers.

The only thing I really take out of those statistics is that IF Blizz adds another class, choosing anything besides Tinker will result in a lower approval from MMO champion posters.

In other words, Tinker is the most popular out of any other single choice presented. No other class has as many votes.

So to add all the other votes up and claim it as evidence against Tinkers is kind of bad logic. Because if Blizz went with another class, it would actually have MORE votes against it than tinker. :/

I mean yeah, anything more than what you stated is no more than speculating about possible factors. Is any class wanted by over 50% of playerbase? That'd be pretty destructive to the game imo.

Just gonna throw out that a sample size of 800 people doesn't indicate anything when it comes to whether or not the community is actually interested in Tinkers, one way or the other. Especially when the actual question has no real parameters and the voting population is about as biased as it gets.

It would appear that "diehard fans of WoW" don't want any new class then, since Tinkers dominate other class concepts in multiple polls, and its been that way for quite awhile now.

You can't do that. The people who said 'Yes' to Tinker may also have said 'Yes' to the other classes, and, if had the option, may have voted them over Tinker. It works both ways.

We've done those polls. That simply isn't the case. The majority of the people here don't want ANY new class at all. The fact that the Tinker is sitting at over 40% vs "No" which includes people who don't want any new class and people who could want anything from Dark Ranger to Spell Breaker is a pretty strong indicator that the Tinker class concept is a very popular concept here on MMOC.
