Anyone else find Asmongold tragic?

He's been wanting a vanilla server for so long and whenever you tune into his stream he's mindlessly grinding dungeons and he sounds pissed off and bored. Is that really what he was waiting for? Maybe he should play Classic the correct way and not try to get to 60 as fast as possible - that is pointless.

ive almost only seen him out in the world questing and having fun. I bet you're watching him grind SM which EVERYONE is going to do when level appropriate...

I don't know if you're trying to make a joke here, but every time I've tuned into Asmongold over the past few days, it's been to him ranting about how everyone else is not playing Classic the right way. Meanwhile he's grinding dungeons with 9 viewers while reserving any and all purple drops for himself.

exactly this. I take breaks, log off, do actual RL stuff. And when im not playing, i'll be thinking about preparing for what im going to do when i log back in. Just today, I got all my quests ready for DM and took a break. Logged back in, and had an absolute flawless run in DM. Feels much more immersive than speeding your way to 60. Honestly, I dont get it. I am level 20 and I've completely fallen back in love with WoW again. To each their own of course, but I feel like these speed levelers are completely missing out.

I don't see a problem with Asmongold, I don't always agree with him but he often has good points. Of course he's grinding dungeons...otherwise he would be streamsniped to no end. The problem is Twitch imo...people on here are just toxic and extremely judgmental, even Asmongold think so but people keep donating like crazy...so he's obviously laughing to the bank. A lot of people that complain are obviously jealous...I mean he's very popular and he get paid playing WoW...that's a dream job so lots of people are annoyed by that since they have jobs they don't like or jobs that force them to a shit schedule, etc.

He can say some really dumb things 60% of the time. Most of the time it doesn't bother me and i watch him once and a while, but his fucking chat is nothing short of a disaster at best.

I don't personally care for Asmon, at least not his streaming personality. I have seen a few YT videos he made where he's turned off that side of him and just talking, one of them was speaking about his coping with depression and I believe his mother is ill, which is why he lives with her (on both counts). And, for the fact that he tries to support her, I am glad he has a source of revenue to do so. He's a good son.

HOWEVER...

His lifestyle choices are point blank unhealthy. He rarely goes outside, he sits in that dank cave of an attic the vast majority of his time. He doesn't eat well, and he consumes an outrageous amount of soda (or pop if you prefer). He caters to what his "fans" want from him, and they in turn support this monumentally unhealthy life he's leading. Yes, he is only 26 now (or so), but as he continues this he health will absolutely crater. And he's not the type of personality that can make this sort of entertainment extend beyond streaming. So, what does he do when the streamers paradise implodes and no one cares anymore? He has no experience with anything else. When his checking account runs dry, what is he going to do? He has zero to fall back on.

This is what I find tragic about Asmon. And despite how much he makes from this, I think it's kind of sad in the end.

Yeah but like, do you understand that WoWs system is made to trick people with these kind of problems to play these "games"? And I assume you're playing as well. Just saying.

I never had a problem with asmongold. My guild on kt always beat his to realmed first in legion and wod. And we loved feeding off his rage. I never had a problem until yesterday when he states "you know what? Id be damned if I'm going to level in classic without some fun. Pst for invites for world pvp". Then he gets 40 people in hillsbrad to secretly escort him to sm gy. Then says "I'm gonna take a break from pvp and do this dungeon". Mind you this was 10mins after he had tons of people fly to hillsbrad for an event.

Later that day, he got 120 people+ to world pvp in barrens. He leaves group as he gets there to start his warrior berserker stance quest and get protection.

He scumbagged entire fanbase and used them for his own personal gain twice yesterday. It's worse in classic when u walk miles to join an event.

Disclosure: I'm not even alliance, I just feel for any of his fans who actually realise they are being used. Any1 who doesn't think they were used yesterday is in denial.

so essentially a person saying hey guys come and have fun with me because we know that there are people who are specifically making guilds to come kill me to keep me from progressing in this game is somehow a bad thing because of asmongold

You know what his fans can do when he asks them to go help him?? They can just say no wake if I was online and one of my friends said hey come help me out and just kind of like walk around and protect me from World PVP I would probably tell them no or yes depending on my mood because let's face it it might be kind of a trek to get there but you're kidding yourself if you're thinking that somebody went from one side of the map in the game to the other side of the map in the game not expecting it to be a really short event

you see that's the problem though they have a different mentality than the people that enjoy it

I think preach somebody said it best a while ago they've already experienced all this content so it's not going to be as fun the second time around

If you kill 10 kobolds 15 years ago doing it again now wasn't going to be some kind of massive and amazing experience

If you run deadmines for the first time now but you ran it back in the day then it's not going to be the same

I didn't play vanilla so I am kind of enjoying the leveling experience however a couple of my gilbey's did and their speed leveling it because they don't like the leveling khon2 anymore they did it multiple times back in the day they have no desire to fixate on it they just want to get to 60 and start doing actual stuff which is really weird because back in vanilla the only thing really tied behind level cap was essentially raids

Eh, I doubt Asmongold's frustration was ever really about not getting Classic. The man just wanted to rage. Rage at the creators of a game he has long since grown out of liking, but can't quit because his income is dependant on it. Watching Asmongold, is watching a man that is paid to play a game he hates, yet must play.

I find it hilarious that he'll have to pretend to enjoy Classic now. Sure, it's something newer than the regular content. But deep down, it's still the game he actually loathes.

I mean, most people work in jobs that they don't enjoy. Only he makes tens of thousands of dollars a month to sit at home and play a game and you're sitting behind your monitor throwing shade.
