Both started a war.
Garrosh dropped a manabomb on Theramore.
Sylvanas burned down Teldrassil.
Both managed to bring up, not only the Alliance against them, but also their own people inside of the Horde because of how atrocious these acts were.
Garrosh tried to have Vol'jin assassinated
Sylvanas tried to have Saurfang and Thrall assassinated, and Baine executed.
Garrosh brought both the Horde and Alliance together to raid Orgrimmar and defeat him.
Sylvanas brought both the Horde and Alliance together to a showdown in front of Orgrimmar, until she had to flee.
Garrosh escaped his trial.
Garrosh and Grom confronted Mannoroth in an epic cinematic.
Sylvanas confronted Bolvar in a cinematic.
Garrosh basically was the catalyst for the events of WoD, linking our world to that of a Draenor from a different time and opening a portal.
Sylvanas basically was the catalyst for the events of Shadowlands, opening a portal to the Shadowlands.
Both waited for us in the new "world" that they fled to.
Only difference is, Garrosh was a good character.

It gets even better when you think about it.
Garrosh in the WoD cinematic, Gul'dan on the ground.
"This was not our destiny."
"Times change."
Sylvanas in the Shadowlands cinematic, Bolvar on the ground.
"That power will be your prison."
"This world is a prison."
That moment reminded me a lot of that moment in the WoD cinematic.

I mean the difference is
- Garrosh was much more relatable.
- He did bad things, but at least he was understandable.
- He was a good guy, who went on the wrong path.
- Sylvanas has been broken since she was turned into a banshee. She hates everything that exists. She sees the world as a prison.
- At least we got to kick Garrosh's ass before he vanished.

I would have been actually interested if they hinted that the horde and alliance were actually coming together this time, instead of staying the same old like usual. Would have been vastly different from WoD then.

Garrosh was cool though. I liked Garrosh and I HATE the Horde. He was openly a big arsehole and didn't give a shit. No smarminess, no smirking "huehue I'm so clever and evil" bullshit, just "nah fuck you" energy and it was great.

On the other hand she almost exclusively used swordplay against Saurfang, against Bolvar there was Archery(her preferred weapon) much more open use of her powers like turning into smoke, she showed a new one with her arrows turning into chains, and while Saurfang got utterly wrecked by Sylvanas' swords, Bolvar barely flinched when taking all those arrows, which are charged with her power, and she had to throw an Giant ice pillar at him to give her the opportunity to get the helm off Originally Posted by splatomat
