Just realized that Arthas was a lootwhore like us.

Nearly all items from his loot table are items that he took from those he defeated. Kinda like us, in hindsight.

Not sure if this *really* counts as a lore post, but it is interesting because most bosses drop items directly related to themselves it seems like. You're right that he does have a lot of stuff that didn't originally belong to him. What other bosses are like that?

I suppose it does make some sense for the character. They put in a lot of little "history of Arthas" details like with the chest you get with Frostmourne. So that is probably why in the LKs case, they really liked telling his story and how he got where he was.

In Karazan there's someone that drops Gorehowl for some reason.

Yeah, my bad there. Posted it in the sub-forum that I hang around the most.

Also, does Skull of Gul'dan count, in regards to a boss having an item that didn't belong to him originally?

I want Illidan's Horns to be a trinket now, lmao.

Garrosh gives an answer for that. "Look, I don't know how Prince Malchezaar got his hands on Gorehowl, okay? Stop asking!"

And like most loot whores he has lost his soul to the first weapon he ninja'ed.

Well not really... Illidan came into its possesion during RoC when he consumed its magic and you can even see the skulls model on him in few animations.

Well this prove canon wise our hobos probably carries things from the enemies we defeat in the past. Looks like pillage is common in Warcraft despite the 21 century morality plaging the game

Just imagine him killing uther/antonidas and immediately looting their bodies.

He almost lost race to icecrown because he was overencumbered and couldnt run.

I hate that part, especially due to the accompanying moral BS.

The Kryss of a Thousand Lies might be the exception, just being a play on the Sword of 1000 Truths from south park. But I like to headcannon it belonged to Mal'ganis, being a dreadlord and all it would fit.

A lootwhore indeed. Why would he ever loot Antonidas, anyway? I'm pretty sure that caster stuff was completely useless for him since he rerolled DK

He traded it to KT and took it back later.

Sometimes I wonder if the writing team doesn't smoke some heavy weed and think they're written a story similar to Harry Potter but in High Fantasy
