Not sure if this *really* counts as a lore post, but it is interesting because most bosses drop items directly related to themselves it seems like. You're right that he does have a lot of stuff that didn't originally belong to him. What other bosses are like that?

I suppose it does make some sense for the character. They put in a lot of little "history of Arthas" details like with the chest you get with Frostmourne. So that is probably why in the LKs case, they really liked telling his story and how he got where he was.

Well not really... Illidan came into its possesion during RoC when he consumed its magic and you can even see the skulls model on him in few animations.

Well this prove canon wise our hobos probably carries things from the enemies we defeat in the past. Looks like pillage is common in Warcraft despite the 21 century morality plaging the game
