Sounds like a place to avoid like the plague.
I don't pay for women. But if you are going to pay for a woman, make sure the terms (deepthroat etc) are discussed and mutually agreed before hand.

But the bodypillow won't go "uguuh!" if you touch it (unless they integrated them with singing birthday cards now). :P

It was a reference to some glorified eroge/tamagochi hybrid games I've seen a while ago where you essentially have your waifu on your screen and can do some basic interactions. There were plenty of sad things into that direction. I'm not someone who begrudges others their porn fetish, but when it's so blatantly obvious that they are being milked like cattle...
You are welcome, Metzen. I hope you won't fuck up my underground expansion idea.

Just as strip clubs are sad.

    Just as prostitution is sad.

Any environment where you are paying for human companionship is sad, for everyone involved.

Thank you, but no thank you.
Prostitution is probably the most honest transaction you'll make in your life

I don’t have a problem with it then again as a guy I wouldn’t expect a date to pay for my meal.

You're most welcome. I've tried the Tokyo speed dating scene a few times. The women leave first, then the men are allowed to leave after some time. I can fully understand this, don't want no stalker following you home right after a speed dating session.

haha no. The girls DON"T get paid. They get drinks/food paid for by the guy*s* at the table. The girls have no obligation to stay and can leave at any time. You can see the appeal for girls to come to a place like this. They get to meet/talk to guys and get free food/drinks with a chance to meet someone you like/want to connect with for a night/relationship material.

Very true. The way guys meet girls is different in different Asian countries. Every country has their own ways of social interaction between both sexes.

I very much doubt many of them will find a potential dating partner that way. This is more an extension of already vile practices on dating apps, here the bots are just replaced with professional people that will do even less than an escort. I can absolutely see there being a market for this, but my god, at some point you'd have to realize that just watching a food streamer or fondling your anime-waifu JPEG is probably more economic than getting ripped off for the most basic level of human interaction.
Have you seen that Japanese and Korean guy that married an anime character? Japan has had 2 that I know off. One guy married a game character on NDS while the other married Hatsune Miku.*the very popular vocaloid character with bright blue hair*

They are not employed by aisekiya. They enter on their own volition. How it works, pair or group of guys go into the place and given a card. Girls walk in and are seated next to them. They can come and go anytime with no obligation to stay.

Eh, these are outlier of a larger issue but ultimately inconsequential to the overall picture. In Germany we had a woman recently that made the rounds because she is in love with a plane .. with a crazy bint like that I can't even judge the 2 dipshits that "married" some pixels (unless they actually let him put her in the family registry, which would be the only thing that matters in Japan afaik). Btw, did the company that owns the IP ever say anything about the guy?

Things which I think have some actual influence is the 10s of millions discrepancy between woman and men of certain age ranges in china, which spawn trends like sharing a wife among the poor. Or the overall poisoned gender dynamic in Japan as a whole with all the other issues they face as a society.

Its normal thing in Japan. I think a problem in the first date can be a time filled with stress and insecurities. I would advise reading www.happymatches.com/blog/online-dating/first-date-tips I can suggest if a person doesn’t know the other person very well yet and don’t know what they’re expecting or how to act around them. Its the main problem our time.

Isn't this pretty similar to nightclubs? Cover charge for the guys, girls get in for free? It's just a bit more structured.

Also I think a lot of dating/hookup websites charge for guys but not girls (eg Ashley Madison), so just think of this as the analogue equivalent of internet dating.
