I think the issue you are facing is not that “domestic media” is not reporting it, but that people simply don’t care. It’s not like those in line for food are posting on an MMO forum, to tell us it sucks.

Don't worry republicans and Trump are on the case!!!

    https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/tr...cid=spartandhp

President Donald Trump’s signature food aid program is sending less relief to New York and New England than other parts of the country, even though the Northeast has the most coronavirus cases. Some states — Maine and Alaska at least — have been left out completely so far.

Out of $1.2 billion in the program’s first round, just $46 million is going to the Northeast. The region, which encompasses New York and New England, has the most coronavirus cases but received the least money of any region except the Mountain Plains, which has almost half as many people.

By contrast, the Southwest (including Texas) is getting more than five times as much money even though it has only about 50% more people and a quarter as many coronavirus cases

Put another way, the Northeast has 10% of the country’s population and 33% of COVID-19 cases but is receiving only 4% of food relief dollars, according to ProPublica’s analysis of data from the USDA, the Census Bureau and Johns Hopkins University.

Hmm, from a mainstream "domestic" media company too...that's odd you said....

I mean even a simple search shows you CNN has been reporting on it just as much as one would expect. In video and in print.
Now that is just one of our "domestic media" companies....

Not sure what you are expecting?

I don't know if any of the articles address this, but the infection rate is irrelevant to where Food Relief would need to go, I would suspect higher unemployment rates among the population would be a better indication of Food Relief efforts.
Is there any kind of data presented that the NE is getting proportionally a lower amount of funding?
I think another big indicator would be the GDP of the state, North East GDP is higher per state vs poor southern states. They wouldn't need the relief.

The story explains how much funding the North east got relative to more than just infection/death rates.

Also as far as unemployment rates, they are much higher in the north east then the other places mentioned in the article.

Just based on unemployment the West should have received double the money of the south or southwest

Amazon and digital company are hiring like crazy.
There is no way the unemployment is 19% in CA.

This has something to do with "unemployed gets more money than the minimum wage".

It pains me when you post but you realize that the state has 19.5 million in the workforce right?
You understand the math that we are talking about 2-3 million people would have to be hired by amazon right?

welp I guess amazon would only have to increase their total employment numbers just in the state of CA by 250-300% to make that happen.

    that's only about 1.2 billion a week @ $15.00...not including taxes...insurance...401k...etc etc.

Should be no problem for them to find 62 billion dollars a year.

of course then they would have to spend another 50 billion on finding space to house all these workers.
    Buh Byeeeeeeeeeeee !!

i'm starting to wonder if it's hubcap under a new account....all he needs to start doing is start threads and post random articles most of which either have little to do with his thread or contradict his point and then run off when confronted.

Just apply to be a mod already, dude. These attempts at pseudo-moderating on your behalf are getting kind of cringey.

My belly is full and my taxes are lower. I'd rather USA be ahead in space exploration, weapons and industry than give lazy bums free food.

Considering y'all haven't returned to the moon, won a war, or had anything but pitiful GDP growth for decades, one could be forgiven for finding your spending priorities questionable as to their return on investment. *sips tea*

I'm just sayin' that other countries also manage to not do these things but still don't suck to live in as much if you're working class.

I work in a fancy restaurant, and got hundreds of dollars tips in one evening.
Now everyone line up to get these free food.
No one eats in the restaurant.

This is bad for economy !

There is no profit in the moon, I support space exploration but the moon is a rock. USA wins every war. How many bombs did North Vietnam drop on US soil again? USA lost 56k they lost over a million. When the USA signs a peace treaty were we lose territory, have a chunk of the nation destroyed and lose 1/2 a generation on people like Germany and Japan did, I'll consider that a loss.

As for your other anti USA comments, what country is as rich? Has as big a space program? Has as powerful a military? Has as much freedom? Oh... none? Ok. Lastly, "the working class" live just fine. The idiot who makes 25k a year but STILL has 4 kids and decides to buy a big screen TV and shiny new 22" rim's for their pos car rather than food and rent is the one having problems, by their own doing.

Thank God I never had to endure that here in Ireland, despite having been temporarily let go from work alongside the vast majority, I've got the comfort still of being given €350 a week and distribution of food hasn't really been affected. Queues at supermarkets are short where I live.

Than why are there nearly 100000 dead to a pandemic? People would rather have a space program, than live?

Edit: Also, it’s not space exploration... it’s the space force!
