I believe that would be veganism, as in, not consuming anything produced by animals? Pretty sure vegetarians still consume milk. Or did someone refuse to eat cheese, because of the bacteria?

Cheese is made with rennet, which is mainly found in the stomach of calfs. Since this is a cheap byproduct of the slaughter industry it is commonly used over its more expensive and less effective vegetarian alternative (microbial rennet). Since calfs have died for this, many kinds of cheese are, infact, not vegetarian.
