So...
Currently, I can get conquest from unranked, random BGs, and overtime it builds up to where I can acquire Gladiator gear. Is this changing at all in Shadowlands? I'm worried I won't be able to get the gladiator appearance (not elite) without ranked pvp.
On a side note, the pvp elite armor sets look pretty good, but the actual pve raid sets (including M) are trash..
Stop trying to force us to do rated pvp already.. RBGs is a dead scene and arena is simply not fun for some.
But who cares about people who enjoy random bgs right, just screw them over like you always do.
I'll take the current system over this one.
Alliance probably loses more, but many of us can’t simply afford to spend 30 mins in queue in one hour to do a couple of bgs. I hate playing bgs as alliance but without mercenary mode I would have probably completely stopped doing PvP, my sessions are too short to be wasted in queues (that’s also why I basically play healer or tank in M+).
I don't quite understand this change, can someone explain it to me?
Before was honor for PVP, conquest for Rated PVP (As we're used to)
Now it's Honor for PVP, Rated Honor for Rated PVP (New and improved)
... To me it sounds like exactly the same thing, just with another name? ... Am I dumb?
So I see a large portion of the player population (and I agree with them) asking for an incentive for random BGs because it is the most fun, and nothing is done in that direction. Since the beginning of rated.
A lot of us don't give 2 shts about rated pvp, and especially arenas. You can make them earn cash prizes, air it on TV, it doesn't change anything. We want BG love.
Basically it's an extra thing you can earn through rated PvP after Conquest caps. Because currently if you cap Conquest, which doesn't take very long, there's not any real reason to continue doing rated PvP other than grinding rating, which a lot of people don't care about and also stops mattering after a certain point. This gives you a reward for continuing to play rated after you've finished capping conquest.
Seems like a good change honestly, puts more rewards into rated PvP which considering there really haven't been any rewards in a very long time I'm a fan of this change.
The majority of people don't enjoy random BGs and only do them when they're required. Did you see all the backlash about Blood of the Enemy being a reward for BGs? And that wasn't even that much of a grind all things considered.
Random BGs aren't going anywhere, they just aren't adding rewards, which seems fine. Rewards should be given for accomplishing something, killing a raid boss, clearing a dungeon, or winning a competitive PvP match. Random BGs aren't an accomplishment because they don't require any amount of skill or effort and can be literally AFK'd, so adding more rewaards there doesn't really make much sense.

So, no pvp honor vendor after all for non-rated pvp? And we get to know that 2 days before launch? You've got to be kidding me.
You just want to force PVPers doing rated stuff because participation is **t? At that point just remove non rated and add a "Random RBG" queue in game.
There goes the hype for endgame shadowlands. I played random BGs since BC and quit arena in WotLK (after spamming rated pvp for 3 years). Pillar hugging simulator is just fun for so long.
You could, but at the same time you'll be earning honor in Arena and Rated Battlegrounds so you wouldn't need regular battlegrounds. If I recall too the gear you earn from Arena / Rated is the same as the Great Vaults and requires Conquest Points to upgrade. Honor only upgrades the regular gear you can buy from battlegrounds.
Shadowlands comes out in 3 days and Blizzard decides to overhaul the PvP system? LOL
You are right. I forgot they changed it at some point. So essentially what happens is PvP goes from Rank 1-7 which caps at 197 and can be upgraded with honor. You can get Conquest gear that has 2 ranks and goes from 190-200. So any gear you buy with Conquest you earned from Arena's / Rated Battlegrounds can be used to upgrade those two pieces of gear. Basically meaning any honor you get from earning it for the Great Vault can be easily used towards those upgrades and still not needing regular battlegrounds.
