Thread: Cyberpunk 2077

My game looks blurry and unclear as fuck.

I even disabled all those Basic effects like motion blur, film grain, HDR, etc and it still looks like an acid trip. Stuff up close, really up close, looks great, but the farther away - the more it looks like someone barfed. Reminds me of Outer Worlds.

Also why the hell is it so low res in character creation?

My GPU is 2080 RTX Super, and everything is on Ultra.

It's looking really fun on twitch.

Wow, the PS4/Xone performance is really... the answer as to why there weren't any console review codes. Those go 15-25 FPS, whereas Doom Eternal on the fucking Switch has a very stable 30fps with only occasionally dropping by like 1-3 in action parts
I actually feel sorry for all the people having bought those... that is just... an absolutely subpar experience for any game when your platforms doesn't even reach 30fps paired with heavily downscaled graphics. To people not knowing, you could probably tell them it's leaked switch port footage and they'd likely believe it.

I have no opinion on how the game itself is, but the performance on last gen... oh my...

Everyone here be like it's been lots of fun I been playing for hours !! I be like.. I gotta work in less than two hours. Good morning. *waves, go gets some tea ready*

Well you know I was looking up if we can have romance with characters just like the Witcher 3. I got informed that I have a man named River waiting for me. Only one guy unfortunately.. but it's something.

When I heard his name was River all I could keep thinking was, "I follow Rivers" the song. (kept humming and singing it too) I don't think that is a coincidence. They probably took some inspiration from that song. I could be wrong but will see. Oh River I hope they actually set the partners up so they actually help you a long with the rest of story. Not just an after thought, but in all reality they probably will not do much of anything for the story if you decide to romance them.

    "You're my river running high
    Run deep, run wild
    I, I follow, I follow you
Deep sea baby, I follow you"

Man I really feel bad for last gen users that did not upgrade nor don't have beefy PC....the more stuff I see on YT....this game on console should be delayed for next like half a year.

Game looks good, but the graphical glitches are bothering me a little bit, will probably wait for a few patches I guess. Wonder how much longer it will take to polish this.

Ran up to my first 'assault in progress' and some cops were nearby so i was like guess imma attack these guys, nope now im a criminal and the super high level cops murder me from behind, if i wander in and they start attacking me first? I'm cool. Bit weird.

That is not my opinion, it is yours. You are saying something that is nonsensical and largely impossible in artistic critique.

Yet you can't even offer any evidence to why you think I'm wrong.
This is neither my problem or important. You are claiming something foolish and flat out wrong.

Provide me with objective aspects of a work for critique.

I've actually written reviews as part of my job, have you? Highly doubtful...
Yes, I have written film, music, travel and restaurant reviews for print as a freelancer.

I worked for SOE, Frogster Pictures and developed educational software for Valencia College and currently work in market research.

I worked in the game industry, have written about art and products and work with products intended for market directly today, which is multifaceted; qualitative & qualitative focus, CLT, i-HUT, survey, and 1-on-1... really every type except polling.

There are objective overviews that are largely technical. There are no objective reviews even in part though. This is a contradictory concept.

Please, just continue complaining how you can't grow a massive dong on your video game...
Hah, I am probably older than you and a woman. What the hell are even you even coming up with here?

Okay, continue your "discussion" in bald ignorance.

It isn't that they pulled a fast one on PS4/XB1 users. Its that the game should have never released on those systems to begin with. Each generation there is games that release on the last gen hardware that really shouldn't have and due to this performance/visuals are crap.

Look at Farcry 4,Watch Dogs, MGSV and so on on PS3/360 and compare it to PS4/XB1. I get why they released it on last gen but this game really shouldn't have been released on PS4/XB1.

Still cant get through the prologue on any of the story arcs. GTX 1060 with updated drivers and sitting in a chair/walking through a door is just too much for the game to handle.

Note that this isn't any door, or any chair. They're specific crash points and it seems I'm far from alone in this.

Got to the point where I can't try to see if it's fixed anymore or I'll go over 2 hours played and not be eligible for a refund.
Ex-Mod. Technically retired, they just won't let me quit.

No DRM, nice *snip*. Gonna try out on weekend, because I'm very skeptical about this game.

    10ish Hours Playtime:

Performance-wise, a bit sluggish even with most options at "Medium". Volumetric Shadows or whatever the hell it is called was awful and slowed the game to a crawl until I turned it way down. I have a 1080 GTX.

I have not run into any bugs at all. I have not played a game where I experience a serious game affecting bug or glitch in a decade at the least.

Very much enjoying the story so far. The gameplay is solid, but this isn't any more revolutionary or evolutionary than other first-person RPGs I played. All the elements work exactly as I expected. There is a certain degree of shallowness to environmental interactions and NPCs though.

The RPG mechanics are, well, they are standard stuff. There is nothing new here.

I didn't read the review but I saw one that had the tagline something like, "Cyberpunk is more Dad-rock than New Wave" and that is 100% accurate to my feelings so far. I don't dislike 'Dad-rock', per se. Though if I had a choice I'd much rather be listening to Talking Heads than REO Speedwagon.

    Cyberpunk 2077 is REO Speedwagon.

I see someone is mad that they can't afford a PC to run the game.
Or maybe you're just a petty POS yourself since you can't even allow others to be excited about their hobby.

Playing this on a rather outdated PC (generation 4 i7 and GTX 980) And I am actually surprised by how smooth it is running.

And honestly right now I am trying out the different career paths for the intros etc but holy hell I am loving this game so far. Night City looks amazing and I can not wait to completely explore it in the coming weeks.
    Camilla: You, sir, should unmask.
    Stranger: Indeed?
Cassilda: Indeed, it's time. We have all laid aside disguise but you.
    Stranger: I wear no mask.
Camilla: (Terrified, aside to Cassilda.) No mask? No mask!

If it is indeed the same thing as outer worlds, I know exactly what you're talking about: chromatic aberration. Look for that setting. A lot of games don't have the option in the graphics menu and you have to edit some ini file somewhere.

The game sounds even better than it looks. The sound design in this game is some of the best I have ever heard. Magnificent. The hours of work it must have taken and the trouble, really impressive.

The filter in Outer Worlds is unplayable, Idk what they were thinking. It can't even be fully disabled. I kind of like it in Cyberpunk anyway, it isn't as headache inducing.

Thankfully Cyberpunk has the option to turn that off in the settings, that was the first thing I turned off together with film grain and motion blur

That said, I do find it to be slightly blurry in places still. Pretty sure this is because, like many other modern games, Cyberpunk uses TAA for antialiasing. And it's not a particularly great implementation of TAA in my opinion. Sadly I couldn't see any option to turn this off.

Gonna try to run it with the FidelityFX CAS on next, something like 90-95% resolution scaling with CAS might actually be a better, sharper image than native with TAA.
