Naw, the Capitol Police let it happen, that's why.

They were "smart" enough to...plan their attempted insurrection in public. And show up without masks. And frequently identify themselves by name and place of residency on camera while inside the Capitol building illegally.

I mean, I'm increasingly warming up to the notion that every single one of them there, and a great many of them not there, are indeed inbred rednecks.

Not that I'm aware of, he just restarted federal executions.

Because he's from the "pro-life" party, of course.

Normally yes that would be fine, but problem is radicalization of the vulnerable people.

Which can be sent on a maddening spiral of be swayed to commit violence against people. (The pharmacist that destroyed vaccines cause he over the Edge of Madness in Zul’Gurub)

There is plenty of sick sociopaths/psychopaths that enjoy twisting the vulnerable into violent people.

Apparently yanked from the Play Store. Too bad installing a .apk file is probably much too big brain for a lot of these Y'all Qeda fucks.

Looks like parlor was deplatformed. good.

Oh boy, Gab created an account to go advertise their shitty platform on Twitter.

    It's so gloriously pathetic.

Isn't it normal to deplatform extremist and terrorist recruiting websites? Treat Parler the same way ISIS recruitment websites are treated.

Twitter has gotten better at improving the rules as well as enforcing them, so it's not just right wingers getting banned anymore, but they still have a long way to go in making the platform a level playing field.

That said, a lot the issues with social media boil down to Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act, as well as the Digital Millennium Copyright act. Trump was trying to get 230 repealed so that it would put more pressure on the social media companies and tech giants to stop flip flopping on whether they are a platform or a publisher whenever it suits them.

lolololol, do you know how easy it is to backdoor install software on Android? Like, a child can figure out how to do it.
Good luck with that. Go post your hate on there if you want.

Let the Feds use it as a honeypot for like a couple months then abruptly remove it from Google and Apple, then a couple more months later boot it off the Amazon hosting.

Bad. Never been a fan of banning a platform because of the users unless platform straight up says it is a haven for x illegal activity. You cannot regulate stuff if it's pushed underground, also the grounds for banning Parlor are easily flipped. Remember the threat against TikTok - and they were aware enough to cite the platforms ties to China as an excuse. Banning Parlor because it's a MAGA Hats preferred site opens the door for someone more savvy than Trump to ban platforms that speak out against them.

We have institutions in place to keep tabs on platforms, even mere forums like MMO-Champ. Support a system that allows those people to do their jobs (and those who keep the watchers in check).

Paler is actually a valuable asset. It's a honeypot and many MAGA Hats are too dumb to realize it.

And also, if they get rid of Section 230 the moderation will get WORSE, not better.

With Section 230 gone, I could literally go on a website, make an anonymous account, make libelous claims about me, and then sue the website for libel.

That's why Section 230 is so fucking important.

There would be no moderation because the website wouldn't exist. Neither would Facebook or Twitter or MMO Champion or literally any other website that's based on user uploaded content.

Republicans screaming to remove Section 230 don't know what they're asking for. They're too stupid to even read what it fucking is, let alone understand what it means and what the consequences for removing it are.

Yeah facebook, instagram, twitter, entire forum section of mmo champion gone instantly. I think youtube could continue to exist at least short term, but everything would have to be pending and checked by staff moderation and no comment section, it would continue, but it might not be sustainable for long due to low profitability with cost ratio.

Youtube would probably have to go on a subscription model like Netflix with only pre-approved videos being allowed to be uploaded. Which would likely kill Youtube.

And there's no way in hell the alt-right outrage youtubers would get their videos approved.

YouTube would only allow content through verified accounts with 99% of the site being deleted.

idk if they have to go that far. It would just become like one big commericial website. Like official movies companies posting trailers for movies, nintendo sony posting trailers for games, apple unveiling the new ipad, it would just be one big advertisement site. which it already partially is at one point, but if you ain't a public traded company no way they let you post anything. But idk if that is sustainable business, could be.

Parler is now gone from Google store.

rofl, it's gone from google play store, but parlor app still exists which seems like another social media app that functions completely differently than parler but uses all the same fonts and everything trying to trick these dumbfucking people to download it and enjoy all the ad's.
