How is it not borrowed power? Or maybe I don't understand what you mean by "it". If it is the covenant system with its soulbinds and conduits, it most definitely is "borrowed power".

2. Covenant abilities should be talents instead

3. Soulbinds and conduits should not even exisit

This borrowed power system should not be in SL again, and it will cost them the whole expansion to balance them without success.
