One thing woke will never understand, are the facts that reveal them selfs while sleeping. You can’t dream an alternative reality, if you don’t sleep.

Edit: Watching Rubin report going off on woke... you can watch the hamster running on the wheel in his brain... closes the segment with... ‘I’m not woke, am awake’... idiots...

Yeah, for some, but it's directly obscuring and pushing out discussions minority groups need to have with their governments. The fact that some on the "left" are jumping on the bandwagon is a direct contributor to the growing tension between that faction and minority rights advocacy.

Oh, totally, that’s inherent. People won’t jump on the bandwagon, if the selling point was the destination. Instead, they are distracted by the journey. A journey hinging on exactly what you are saying. They call them pet issues, while in the next breath complaining about cartoon bunnies.

Same way people went along with Trump really. Despite what people think in some places, the mob is a dumb fuck and would do just about anything if you lied to it creatively enough. Plausible deniability includes being able to say "Well, they never told us about the atrocities, so we didn't know, all we knew was that the News said we had to defend ourselves aggressively by conquering Europe, made sense at the time!"

It helps that people just like to be on the winning team. If wars weren't so hard to win, people would go to war every day. Look at the enthusiasm the US had for wars in the ME in the past 30 years. That only became unattractive because of the death toll and the money that had to be invested. Not many in the US even now think it's a bad idea just because it's wrong.

Nothing they do or say, has any meaning what so ever... look at the last dozen pages... one of them is trying to convince a bunch of Americans, that we were encouraged to practice shamanism, instead of “white math”...

If you imagine that game for children’s cognitive testing, with different shaped blocks, fitting into same shaped holes. Ideologically, to extremes on the right... Trump is a perfect fit for every hole... Since all their holes are filled by Trump, what do you do with remaining pieces that don’t fit? Well... you toss the at the board and then defend that they fit just fine, with all your vigor.

It's the entire point of the anti-woke thing.
It's also a big point of why they branded themselves as the "Dirtbag Left". They want maintain their privilege of trashing minority factions, by emphasizing vulgarity over policy.

South Carolina voters and other minority groups saw through all of this BS a year ago.

Kind of funny to look back. These people weren't just wrong about a few things politically; they were wrong about literally everything. Every narrative they pushed. Every part of their worldview. Just 100% wrong & discredited.

Yep, sounds like just Germany. The difference is that your political system is actually robust, unlike the Weimar Republic that was full of loopholes and legal exploits. Remember how Trump had to be reigned in by courts because of his Muslim ban? Imagine the courts were part of the Republican party. Now, imagine what Trump's next step would have been... Welcome, you are now playing Weimar Republic 2.0.

That's "just" the Supreme Court. It would surprise me if they had control over all 50 state Supreme Courts and the hundreds if not thousands of local courts dealing with these issues. As Trump found out, you can't just go and knock on the SCotUS' door and demand a ruling in your favour. Typically you'd need to walk the long walk through the various court stages before that. Unlike in Germany of the 30s and 40s where you practically had to be a party member to be a judge, in the US that is very much not relevant to the profession of Judiciary. The GOP is virtually unable to control every single court in the US to the degree they would have to to copy the Nazi rise to power.

The US checks and balances work. Despite all the noise, Trump accomplished jack shit. As I predicted 4 years ago. Everything has been pretty much fixed with a single speech from Biden and a few well placed phone calls to the ACTUAL allies, like Canada, the UK, the EU allies... you are safe.

Now, what you do with the internal rift you have is a domestic issue and you might want to fix that, but I fear it's going to be tough when one side is trying to be normal while the other is literally preparing itself for a civil war and already works on motivating itself up.

Those random acts of violence? Charlotte, the other right-wing atrocities? Even the storm of the capitol? The cynic in me says those are the false starters that couldn't wait for the go signal properly. Keep this climate up for a decade or so and you have a tinderbox next to a heap of dynamite drenched in gasoline and a manchild trying to figure out how lighting matches works...

And it's not helped by the fact that Americans in general are... so malleable. Language, words and their meaning... those things seem to be mere guidelines to Americans rather than codified linguistic tools to convey meanings. The way Americans start doubting words like truth, abuse the words agenda and misunderstand the context in which the word opinion should be used. Their utter inability to understand basic freedoms and how society functions... those are going to be your downfall. It's literally Babel all over again. You aren't even speaking the same language. Watch how Fox News twists and rapes the English language to justify their right-wing ideology... how they keep asking innocent questions. Everyone knows the implication but one side cheers them on while the other side goes "Well, TECHNICALLY, he just asked a question..." It's all plausible deniability. But that's a bullshit concept corrupt people use to justify their corrupt ways. You OUGHT to know better. If you don't, that doesn't make it alright. It means you failed.

Questions can be dangerous. Questions aren't always innocent. And when used in the manner that outlets like Fox news use them, they are NEVER innocent.

The Republican takeover of many courts is meaningful in other ways, but not in the sense that it represents a successful next step in the implementation of fascism. He deserved to be laughed out of the courts for all the idiotic allegations he was making with no evidence to show the court.

I'm 100% opposed to basically every poster here in ideology, but I will find common cause with people thinking the left makes too much of the potential for successful fascist overthrow of the reigning government AND the right makes too much of creeping communism just waiting to undermine institutions and turn America into the next USSR.

Republican judges looking the other way in instances of police brutality or voter suppression is most definitely a successful step in the implementation of fascism, sweaty, even if "implementation of fascism" is kind of a weird phrase anyway because fascism is a means to an end, not an end in itself.

Fascism is an inherent reactionary function of oppressive hierarchies, communism is not. So yes; it is in fact a false equivalency and a case of "both sides" being a shitty and uninformed criticism.

Was there some alt right pod cast about this shit? USSR was founded on a revolution with a demand for ‘peace, bread and land’... How different is it from ‘40 acres and a mule’?

The OP is about people ostensibly on the far left flirting with the far right.

So, are you trying to say the far left is flirting with themselves, or did you just see the thread title and assume people were talking about Hollywood celebrities?

And, frankly, we can forever talk about our institutions and our democracy being continually under threat and deserving constant vigilance with some truth. It doesn't really give credence to the specific charges of nasty Republican conspiracies involving judges, police brutality, or voter suppression. Sweaty or whatever you prefer, I think the right term for this address is "crank," not everything bad in America means you're on the side of the angels and you've identified the work of devils.

More interested in hearing from Slant, since identifying contrary evidence to sinister plots is something of a breath of fresh, ideological air. Heads, the fascist takeover is imminent , tails, the *ahem* setbacks prove the fascist conspiracy is as close as ever. It isn't a fun game.
