I do fancy some democracy, but endless faith in the government? Nah, that's what the youngsters today call a strawman argument.
Populists (and "national socialists") look at the supposedly secret deals that run the world "behind the scenes". Child's play. Except that childishness is sinister in adults.

It's also a strawman, sweaty. You seem to have a problem actually reading people's posts.

Except, those "different reasons" don't make any sense. One dude tried to say it was average of productivity compared to the falling value based on inflation over time.

I get trying to say it's linked to a "Living wage" and only that, because that is actually coherent. Now, I may strongly disagree with how they got to that number, but at least it's a logical, coherent argument to make.

When it was originally written, it was supposed to increase based on the increased cost of living, which would mean it was never close to $15 an hour, and which is why $11 is a much easier sell.

I've said before that convincing the opposition I have a valud argument or convincing them to my side of the argument are winning points. The only exceptions are libertarians who it seems insist on dogmatism and sophistry to favor positions supporting the wealthy fucking the poor.

Well, good luck with that struggle. I will be opposing you every step of the way... and so will those 8 Democrats.

Man, thank goodness there are sane people like Manchin around, to temper the push of progressives.

Or... you know... not fucking over other people, simply because you hate them.

Of the two of us, you're the selfish one.

Yeah thank god there are people like Manchin who think banning trans kids from playing sports belongs in a stimulus bill. /s You sure you want to take this position, sweaty, after your little temper tantrum about FDR?

And like I said; American government 5.0 is entirely possible. Stop confusing your lack of desire for it as a lack of feasibility, you are literally not that important of an individual. Lol.

I assure you his opposition is as changeable with the wind as his conviction. Or do you really think he refused that recent $1400?

Tell you what, if you really believe this, then bet me on that $15 coming to fruition.

Considering that $11 is a far easier deal to get through, for both parties... then there is no logical reason to think $15 will happen.

At this point, I do wonder if you are trying to type, "sweety," or "sweaty." Are you hitting on me, is this some weird fetish of yours, picturing me perspiring?

Yeah funny how libertarian beliefs seems to be priced at around a grand and a half, lol. And they say socialists are desperate for other people's money.

The $11 is an easier sell, by far.

Or, do you really think this is the sword Biden and the Democratic leadership are going to throw themselves on for you ethno-nationalist progressives?

No I didn't, which is the point.

I'll take that as a retraction.

None of us believe you, tbh, especially considering your propensity to distort evidence like with your replies to Phaelix. Lol.

Why wouldn't we believe someone who promotes self-interest would lie to service that? If you're going to make a fetish out of not caring for other people then don't be surprised when other people decide to treat you like an asshole in return.

Democrats are lucky to have Manchin to begin with in this term, but for different reasons than Machismo here proposes.

If he was more to the left you'd have two republican senators from that particular state now, instead of just one.

No, actually, we're not lucky to be stuck with a system that precludes meaningful reform and action because a bunch of dead white slaveholders didn't want slavery repealed.
