It's just a waste of time.
Populists (and "national socialists") look at the supposedly secret deals that run the world "behind the scenes". Child's play. Except that childishness is sinister in adults.

As I've already said my argument is that we should get rid of all of these "mandatory requirements". We should make it so everything related to public school is a bonus or reward-based. Nothing has to change except that we should remove the threat of punishment that most young students currently live under.

And failing to give any adequate justification for why this should be done beyond your feelings being hurt at the word "mandatory", to boot.

"It's coercion" - okay; so what? Laws against murder and rape are coercion, but you don't complain about them because you agree they are a manifest necessity. Well, a comprehensive education is also a manifest necessity for a good, democratic society. Uneducated people are bad citizens.

i would say 'have you met a child' but libertarians spend most of their time trying to meet children.

Kids are indeed known for making rational decisions.

Adults on that extreme end of the political spectrum are indeed known for making rational decisions too.

That's only if they have merit. If someone is so stupid as to think giving children no education is as valid a choice as giving them education, there is nothing to consider especially when that person never brings evidence to back up that argument or thinks raising children as idiots will give us magic future tech to solve problems we shouldn't bother with today.

    That's not an argument.
That's an opinion. And an uneducated opinion at that.
Which only shows how important mandatory education is for children. (And none of that homeschool shit from parents that lack the teaching credentials to pull it off)

I can think of a couple of fields where that would be an actual thing you need. One is a pornographer. Another is a pro gamer.

Another is a WoW gold farmer who then became founder of a fake news alt right web site, then campaign manager and chief adviser to Trump before being fired, then starting up a multimillion dollar scheme bilking people out of thousands of dollars, before getting caught, then pardoned by Trump.

And yet you guys continue to feed the pigeons....
Since we can't call out Trolls and Bad Faith posters and the Ignore function doesn't actually ignore it. Add
    "mmo-champion.com##li.postbitignored"
to your ublock or adblock filter to actually ignore ignored posters. Now just need a way to ignore responses to them as well.

Someone has his quote as a signature saying he might be the most ignorant poster so probably.

cmon people like pc2 keep this forum alive. They say insane and clearly wrong things that everyone gets to dunk on. Orlong used to be the king but pc2 is up there now.

PC2 is right about one thing. Our current education system is inadequate. I mean, look at all the people taking the obvious bait of someone who outed himself long ago for what he actually is.

No, that's what angry right-wingers want this to be seen as.

It's reality vs nutcases. If you're flagging "the right" or "the GoP" as all being nutcases, that's on you.

History is not partisan. If you can't accept that, for example, the KKK were a vile group of racist murderers and abusers who did harm and precisely zero good, then you're just a racist KKK supporter and trying to push disinformation to protect the movement. That's not a differing opinion on history; it's a lie being used to disinform and propagandize.

Also the state isn't even an authority over morality and truth anyways. In fact it's impossible for any source to be a legitimate authority over morality and truth so people are wasting their time by trying to legitimize such an idea.
Here's where you attack a nonsense idea that no one was arguing.

Because you can't back up your shit.

Why are you so close-minded? You should be open-minded and seriously consider other people's arguments.
"Open-minded" means being open to new evidence or rational arguments.

Taken claims without evidence as even potential truth, or arguments that are not rational, that doesn't make you "open-minded". It makes you "gullible and willfully ignorant".

I think you misunderstand him. By "open-minded" he merely means "empty-headed."
