At those speeds all you can do is move to your drops, bend close to your frame, and let it all go.

We also hiked up to the Rocks of Gibraltar for the overlook before cycling back. This was a great weekend so far!

It was. Here are some photos to give an idea of the scope:

Those are some of the hills we had to climb and rocket back down. About 7,000 total feet over the days

Many of the hills are some of the toughest you can do in this area, with anywhere from 9-15% grade. For reference, an average grade for a cycling trip up a mountain is like 6%. Many times I was in my biggest cassette gear, just grinding out the hill at like 3-6mph, panting like I was dying, and considering the 95F temps, 80% humidity, and blinding sun, I was probably coming close to dying lol

EVen if I was outdoorsy, I couldn't now since weather advisories are basically, "don't go outside or you'll die"

It was definitely a super hot, humid weekend here. Luckily we had SAG support for all three rides, with many support stops within 10 miles of each other. Still, on the 67-69 mile ride I went through six 20oz bottles of water, two 32oz Gatorade’s, six or seven cookies, two bananas, and a full lunch. It was brutal.
