Maybe. There isn't any content outside of M+/Raid to do this time around, which hasn't been true in the past (see AP, islands, torghast, rep grinds). They also said they want to do more frequent smaller patches. This would lead one to believe they're going to drop some kind of story quests every couple of months. Unclear that the incentive to do them would be if they aren't tied to player power.

Maybe dragon steering will be a fun thing for a while, sure. But other than that, actual gameplay and content, there's nothing but m+ / a single raid or the very same pvp we already have. That content is gonna feel relatively fresh due to talents, but even that is quickly going to go away.

2 weeks after raid launch you will have seen everything the expansion has to offer. 2 weeks later and you'll probably have peak enjoyed it by then - again, because by then you'll have seen it all. I doubt there's gonna be 4 months worth of dragon gliding, so it's really back to more of what we already have pretty much immediately. No warfronts, no islands, no Torghast, no Mage Tower, no Scenarios, no nothing.

So, as always, more than like half of the playerbase will quit within a month... and the other half will stick around for 4 months because they're content with doing the same raid / the same 8 dungeons 50 times over before getting bored of it. Maybe you'll retain 5 more people who just love dragon swooping so much that they'll exclusively 6-month sub for that. Other than that... it's the same fucking game... just with even less new stuff this time around.
    This feels too accurate.

For all you and we know, it is all already done.

Not saying I agree with it, nor even really want it, but, your excuse as to why not doesn't make any sense.

If they bring major content patches with decent content and on a good 5 months schedule - that's really like 80% of what WoW needs to keep up. The another 20% is to stop fucking self-sabotaging on every turn and opportunity.

If they're actually going to execute properly, we will have to see.

Except it won't be a raid or dungeon. And it won't give player power. So what's the point?

If they release story quests that unlock one week at a time, versus releasing a patch every week with a new story quest chapter, what is the difference? (there isn't one).

A very small percentage of the playerbase cares about the story at all in WoW, and most of those people think it sucks anyway.

Dracthyr do already have all of the animations for warrior and rogue though.
(Even the special class specific animations for those two, like mutilate for rogue and Raging Blow for warrior)

    But to the OP,
Nah. We’re not getting more classes for Dracthyr this expansion.

Ion said after DF it is possible.

I don't think there is a "next step." At least not in the way you're talking about it.

WoW is probably just content to follow the trend line of most other MMOs out there. Big spike for patches, then a falling off maybe a month later.

If anything Blizz might try to accelerate the patch cycle to one per quarter, or maybe they expand on Classic to ensure there's something new once a quarter at least.
