As unfortunate as that is. I don't think this is really appropriate to this forum just because he played wow. Also, while I'm not necessarily saying you are totally lying, I have to wonder why you posted this on a brand new account (particularly on MMOC rather than say, your own realm forums), and point out that there is basically no way to actually confirm the legitimacy of any of it.

It's fine to talk about an in-game player-driven event, but asking for donations of some kind would likely make people take a dim view of what you're trying to promote. Closing this since the OP was removed.
