Stacks damage per trait, but does not create more skeletal mages per trait. I believe you can only get a maximum of 2 skeletal mages through Apocalypse and Army of the Dead.

They do more damage, you wont get more mages though.

also of note if you're playing with a magus build is that a magus spawns whenever you pop an army of the dead from the vision of perfection primary essence.
