Need Urgent Monitor Help!!

Hi to all,

For various complicated reasons I have to buy a new monitor in about 30 mins
Pref 22-24 inch.
Dont know much about monitors though. What resolution is good? Heard alot about 1920x1080

Price should be not higher then 200 euros, or the dollar equivalent of that (think due to VAT its also 200?)

I had a quick browse through the site, my understanding of Dutch is very limited so I could not find monitors listed.

Few things to look for.
1920x1080 resolution
2ms to 5ms response time
120Hz if possible but not necessary
within your budget (I prefer Philips, Asus, Samsung, and LG for monitor brands (Each for their own reason)).

thnx for your quick reply. I have one problem though, when searching, I find 3 types of ports, DVI-D, VGA and HDMI.
Am I correct when assuming that VGA is the old, smaller port, HDMI is the new one and i have no clue what DVI-D is for?

HDMI / DVI-D are two of the more common plugs these days for computers. I use an HDMI and DVI port off my computer to run dual monitors.

Here is a 24" version of my monitor. I have the 27" and I think its great for quality.

Is it also possible to have a 24inch 1920x1080 screen?
Or at least a 16:9?

To keep things simple vga vs hdmi comes down to video quality. HDMI is built to give you the best picture possible. If a device does not have an available HDMI port then you would utilize the DVI since that is the next grade of video cable.

I like the LG monitor you linked. Has the resolution and minimum connections you want. Would be perfect if it had HDMI but you realistically won't notice a difference of video quality between HDMI / DVI unless you had them next to each other. It also comes with a 3 year warranty so that will be handy in the event of dead pixels.
