I got 140k XP from this badboy when I was leveling my Warrior. was 45+ level duty rulette daily though.
The XP bonus from daily duty roulette is insane! Can't say the same for daily duty guildhests though.

They still give 30Kish extra and only take 2-3 Minutes.
I think that's not too shabby.

Only bummer is that you MUST queue solo. My playmate was NOT happy about that.

Bonus xp is awesome, but doing dungeons at your level give really great xp too especially with the FC xp buff and food. On DPS jobs you can FATE grind while in queue and get really decent xp. I went 30-35 in like 3 hours with a full load rested xp (I think max is 1.5 levels of rested?)

Yep, leveling a combat class is WoW-easy in this game.
Still not going to touch melee/archer past lv 15 though. :<

Probably the only thing I dislike about leveling is that monsters with AOE skills do very little damage. A major perk of GW2 was that even the simple monsters occasionally had obvious, telegraphed attacks that would flatten you if you didn't get out of the way... would be nice to see that in FF14, too.

Leveling is definitely a lot smoother this time around. Back at 2.0, you'd have to clear entire zones in order to get anywhere on a level, even at 20ish. Now, with the XP bonuses from random dungeons and guildhests and the extra sources (and did they increase XP rewards from quests?), it's a lot more like WoW where I'm ending up rapidly out-leveling quests and just leaving them for a different class.

Having a lv 80 Ele in GW2: Naah not really. I could/can facetank most mobs w/o changing out of fire, even in Orr. Only the big ones that chain CC are dangerous or if you pull more than one. Same is true for FF XIV IF you're there in true newbie gear. If you are scaled down you can obviously ignore anything except nasty status stuff (dat Morbol breath :X ).

Really? I know there's plenty of monsters that were hitting me for like 1/2 my HP at low levels. Had to roll away from their swings if you wanted to kill them.

Or zerg them down, I guess.

Well I was a crafter so I always had level appropriate gear. Maybe that's what made the difference?
As I said: you only need to dodge the attacks that CC you in any way or the ones of large mobs (Ettins >.<). Those are dangerous.

I found out what those fancy looking gems were and got a set of my own.

Took me about 390 Fates to get them.
Atma of the Maiden played hard to get, 144 Fates for that alone... sheesh...

About 3 days, total of 20-30 hours spent farming fates. Much quicker than when I was farming for thyrus.

    Sounds about right.
Still, not a grind I care to repeat for my other specs unless it's nerfed into oblivion.

What's the quickest way of farming 2000 GC seals for chicken mount? Leves in Aleport?

So still kind of new to the game. Currently a level 35 Monk, love the class. However I am an altaholic and once I hit 50 I would love to both progress gear wise while also working on a new class. However a lot of thoughts are going through my mind. This isn't your typical MMO where once you create a character, you're locked to the class you chose are the start up screen.

I was thinking of leveling multiple toons as different classes, just like how one would do in WoW. However, I've learned that having different classes helps with cross skills etc... So as I was about to just stick to leveling all the classes on one toon, I realized that, by the time I hit 50, all the quests will pretty much be gone.

How in the world could I possibly level up all classes other than FATE grinding and duty roulettes? The story is meh, but I would rather do quests over than just run around the map doing FATEs. Anyone have experience in the matter that can alleviate my worries? I would love to have all classes on one toon, the XP boost plus the cross class options would be great, I'm just a little worried about the grind.

Fates are infinitely better, yes it's a grind, but so would be doing quests over. I really don't get the obsession so many people have with quests.

Is there any point at all to the elemental resist materias? Should I just vendor them, or is there a reason to hang onto them?

    Level via normal dungeon diving.
    Easy as pie.

Take part in any FATE you pass by.

You'll be 50 in no time.

Wasn't it possible to combine multiple low level materias into one higher?

Maybe they are used for that, dunno, fed all I got to the AH.

They make good spiritbonding fodder. Slotting materia - any materia - into a piece of gear increases its spiritbonding rate by 20%. Useful for those of us who mass-spiritbond.
