Hi guys,
I'm looking for some insight as a healer starting to progress on Heroic Rag. I'm a Disc Priest working with a Resto Shaman.
I can see us having major issues with mana in the fight as both me and our shaman were at approximately 15% mana when we got to the first World In Flames in Phase 2. Also, we'd already used the first Mana Tide and my Shadowfiend was on CD.
Gear-wise, our raid group is mostly 378 gear with a few 391 pieces here and there. Also one of our tanks left a couple weeks ago and our new prot warrior is mostly still gearing up. And yes, he was getting hit like a truck.
I'm pretty sure that you'd be able to recouperate a lot of mana during phase 3 before the fun starts in phase 4 due to low raid damage, but at the moment it looks like we're going to run out before we get there. Any tips you guys can give for maintaining mana as high as we can during the fight?
I'm currently using a hybrid disc spec with Atonement/AA & SoS, it has worked well for me while progressing through 6/7H but I'm thinking of getting rid of Atonement/AA & picking up the reduced cooldown on Shadowfiend, and also Train of Thought if I can fit it in as well. How useful is ToT for heroic modes? I do use GH quite a lot so getting a free one more often would help I suppose.
The guys who did our server first (top blokes, used to raid with them before they went 10 man) ran with a Holy Paladin/Disc Priest setup. I was a little surprised when I armoryed their Disc priest, who only has about 1100 spirit and reforges everything into haste & crit (uses heroic Eye of Blazing Power & DMC:T). When gearing myself I keep as much spirit as I can, and try to balance haste/crit % and any mastery I can get is nice, and I end up with around 2700 unbuffed. I use DMC:T & Heroic Jaws. Are there any other priests that run with sweet f**k all spirit? How do you make your mana bar last?
Thanks!
