- Subscriber Losses
- MOP creating a massive divide in the WOW community
- Failed responses to huge upcoming competition
- Boring and unimaginative game design

These are my opinions except the sub loss which is a fact

I guess you could argue that he may have led the team towards MoP, but an unreleased expansion causing (relatively insignificant) controversy is a horrible reason to fire a guy who's basically created the lore for three franchises from the ground up.

Its not Chris Metzens fault that cata sucked. Its the game designers. He wrote the lore for cata, but they wouldn't let him have all the lore in the game. Its not his fault.

if he stops with whole mary sue concept everywhere and kills thrall finally i dont mind him designing the lore, but atm i really would like to see some1 else take care of the lore...

tough the reasons you listed are stupid to say the least cause metzen is not responsible for any of those( he is just responsible for the lore).... that would be ghostcrawler aka greg street the marine biologist and i personally cant see this game not hitting rock bottom with GC as a lead designer. That guy doesnt even have any idea about current state of wow... he even proves that in recent q&a.

And subscriber loss isn't going to be solely the responsibility of one man, let alone an entire team of people. There are dozens of reasons for subscriber loss, and not all of them are related to Cataclsym being a rather unpopular expansion.

Firing their primary lore nerd wouldn't make things better, it would make them worse. Even if WoW's lost a lot of subscribers, it's still probably the most successful game in gaming history. Maybe they won't buy him a new Ferrari this Christmas, but they damned sure aren't gonna fire him.
