I am torn between 3 classes: Assassin, Sorcerer, and Operative. From a bird's eye view, my understanding is that these are my real choices:
1) Assassin - Melee DPS with stealth and some ranged ability (enh shaman), can respec to melee DPS with strong survivability / tanking or better stealth / burst. Class is defined by strong AoE knockback.
2) Sorc - Ranged DPS with decent survivability, mobility and crowd control. Clas is defined by kinetic barrier ability, can respec to heal (no interest) or act as an affliction warlock (even less interest).
3) Operative - Melee DPS with stealth and "shotgun" ranged, seems like less survivability than Assassin but perhaps better stealth / burst (more similar to WoW rogues). Can respec to heal (no interest).
Given that #2 and #3 heal vs #1's ability to tank, and given that I have very low interest in healing (particularly since #1 can self-heal), I am slightly leaning towards Assassin still. What am I missing?
My playstyle is casual PvP / hardcore PvE. I played a rogue in WoW since release, so I feel at home with stealth classes, but am not afraid to go outside of my comfort zone if it will result in a positive experience.
