I have a level 31 Sentinel (republic mirror of the maurader) and have found him a powerhouse. I do find it helps, of course, to keep your gear up to date. I also try to keep my companion (mine is Kira) up to date in gear as well. What spec are you using? I've been using watchman on mine (not sure if they are the same on Empire side) and I love it. Rebuke is almost up in every encounter plus I use Zen to give me some healing on my burn abilities. It works quite well. Also on elites and stunable bosses I make sure I time my force stasis on any of their big hitting abilities (I think your version is force choke?). Anyway, I've found it a lot of fun. It seems to be a popular class that's for sure, I see more of them than any other.
29 Sentinel here.
Since 20 or so I've started to feel the difficulty ramp up. No problem killing normal mobs of course, but I have to be a little more careful with my pulls when silver mobs are involved. And gold mobs can be very tricky indeed, best to have cooldowns and medkits available.
Sometimes I have to head back to the Fleet and update my gear (and my companion's gear).
Sometimes I have to consider whether I'm using my skills to their fullest potential for a given enemy -- for example, whether I'm interrupting the right things.
And on rare occasions... this is shocking, I know... I find that getting a little bit creative -- swapping companions, or re-speccing, or trying a burst-and-kite tactic -- turns defeat into victory.
This is not a problem, people. This is the game.
Might I introduce you to the Gunslinger/Sniper AC's then as they share that fact.
edit:
At this point in the game I normally just tell people to L2P and ignore what most people say about something when in game. Most players still don't know half the facts on something or have very limited data on anything. Play it for awhile and tweak with various stat allocation and talent builds, and maybe level another toon when you get fed up with it. Just, for the lvoe of all that is good, don't flat out delete the toon on a whim.

I've played Marauder up to level 41, then I just couldn't cope with dying every 2 or 3 groups, so I rerolled. Since I wanted a Sith Warrior, that's what I picked, but this time I went with a tank Juggernaut. Currently sitting at level 32 and I've pretty much facerolled mobs I was already struggling with on my Marauder (such as those on Alderaan). So, yeah, I'd rather go through the same quests and story twice than play Marauder ever again (or until at least it gets fixed).
A fair correction, I've just paid token attention in groups for heroic quests.

And yes, I'd reroll a new toon, don't delete it as micky's suggested. If you feel the urge to go stomping on a DW Warrior/Knight it's there.
Mobs do get harder the higher you level. I had the same issues on my Sniper, mostly because they lack any humanoid CC or any real AoE until high level. My Juggernaut had it easier, but only because they get a healer companion early on. It's easier to just tank and let you minion heal you. He still dies at times though, it's not easy when you play a class with no decent CC.

Pretty sad when people pick classes based on their ez-mode instead of acquiring any actual skill.

Having to heal between pulls is pretty normal for every class.
Well, I apologise for not playing a class that is sub-par. If you have the patience to wait 3 minutes between combat sessions for CDs, just so that you are sure you won't get killed, kudos to you. Also, I doubt it was a matter of skill, since I had already played the class for 41 levels, known the use of each skill, had them all bound to keys for faster action time. Just roll a marauder yourself and you'll see how less of it depends on your skill. The class is simply broken for leveling.
No it's not, I've leveled a Scoundrel, Sorcerer, and Operative to 40 and rarely had to heal in between pulls, I only had to use my healing spells while fighting elites.

Oh shut the fuck up, if he's enjoying playing a juggernaut why does it matter if he switched?
Juggernauts take skill to play too anyway, he's leveling for fucks sake there's no skill involved anyway, idiot.

Go Rage and be all you can be!!!
I have a 50 Marauder and I truly regret rolling the class.
I'll see if I cba levelling a BH or Trooper, otherwise I'll unsubscribe and put the account on hold until/if they change things. I'm talking from a PvP perspective and I can do some descent damage, It's just way, way harder than any of the other classes I've tried. Our damage easy to prevent with the hideous amount of CC in this game. The CC system really needs a revamp.
I didn't have any problems whatsoever leveling though.
In my personal experience and comparing to what people say/do in guild on several other classes yes the marauder seems to be a tad harder to manage than other classes especially on a certain level range.
I mainly used my healer companion while leveling and I was annihilation. I didn't find it particularly hard just a bit hectic at level range 30 to 40. It got much much better after 40 when I got a few key abilities. I had to think ahead on the fights a bit more than what I did with other classes and a main problem is that the class has very little aoe even at later levels.
Having said that, I managed to level on mobs and planets that were +1 or +2 levels from me and I finished my class story at level 49.
It's a fun class and it gets better after 40 so if you enjoyed it now stick with it a bit more.
Remember to keep your gear updated (mostly stick to getting the commendations as quest rewards and spend them on orange modable gear), VERY important as well to keep your companion's gear updated and don't forget certain utilities like kick, pommel strike, your roar, your force choke (mainly to give your healer some time to mend you up), etc. People tend to forget these abilities and really when used properly they work wonders.
I'm lvl 35 atm, and I really haven't had any issues leveling. I don't use a tank or healer companion, I still use Vette, and I rarely die. The best thing that happened so far for leveling was Gore. In those 6 seconds you can put out some serious hurt.
And I saw, and behold, a pale horse: and he that sat upon him, his name was Death; and Hades followed with him. And there was given unto them authority over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with famine, and with death, and by the wild beasts of the earth.
i'm level 50 Marauder with 3/5 heroic EV atm and once you get gear the marauder class totaly explode, it's a heavy geardependent class that is insane on 50
That's awesome to hear. I'm 31, and I'm really loving the play style of the class, but I'm having so much trouble leveling from the combat, not to mention the awesome story. But I'm having to play near perfectly on elites, and still, there's a ton of RNG that determines if I will die or not.
I started leveling an Assassin, and it's been so much easier. I think one of our main problems while leveling is our crappy companions, because my friend whose leveling a Sentinel isn't having the problems I'm having, and he's using his shadow companion.
I have my marauder at 50. I soloed every last class quest I had up until the finale with Darth Baras, then I kept getting stomped. Best I got was like to 5% on round 2. Eventually got a guildie to help me and beat him. I will admit I got stomped a few times in my class story before I figured out strategies to beat them. The Tatooine class quest finale really got me a few times as did a quest on Voss. Using stims, popping every CD I had, and going out to quest a little more to get better gear and level got me through both rough spots.
My marauder is annihiliation spec'd since the heals from bleeds does help a touch. I also make sure to keep up with Malavai Quinn's gear and keep him in his healing stance. Malavai's always with me. When Malavai fails to keep up healing, I make sure to use my health packs. I also make sure to keep all of my cooldowns handy. I often end up using 2-3 in rapid succession on some fights. Another trick I figured out is to kite. Whack the mob enough to get rage, then start running. Do saber throw and force scream until you're out of rage, then force leap in, whack again to build up some rage, use force choke to let Malavai catch up on healing for a second, then start running again. When things start getting bad, run away and use med packs and force choke to let Malavai throw a few heals. Sometimes letting Malavai tank for a bit and then force choking the mob to force him back onto you can also be helpful. Just be sure you don't let Malavai die or a fight you were about to win might end up with you being visited by the medical droid.
If all else fails, go level a bit. PvP and space combat often helps. I always end up going to the next planet 2 levels above the minimum. Like I start Dromund Kaas at level 11 or 12 depending on my luck in Black Talon with xp, I then start Balmorra at 18 rather than 16, etc. Leveling trick only works until Corellia and the finale, though. Then if you still haven't figured out how to handle the quests on your own, all you can do is either gear up a bit more or get someone to help you. Bonus quests are fantastic to get gear. In higher levels, you start getting purple mods for your moddable gear from the bonus quests. I got the purple mods on Belsavis although I don't recall if I got any on Corellia or Voss. Think they were all blue. More often than not, you get blue mods which can often be a nifty upgrade. Also remember your planet commendations since those can be used to upgrade some armor slots with either entirely new items or mods. Your professions are also another area to keep leveled so you can upgrade your weapons or armor as you go rather than relying on the galactic trade network, guildies, drops, or quests.
On another note, I did hear that there is supposed to be an overhaul to the jedi knight/sith warrior so maybe they'll see some changes in 1.1. Get some buffs or something. I rather enjoy the class, though. Force leaping in, throwing my lightsaber, etc is rather entertaining for me. Also trying to figure out how to solo a mob that others have trouble with is quite fun for me. I'm just getting into the game now. I'm not letting naysayers ruin my fun with the sith warrior.
Lvl 33 marauder here, Annihilation specced, I don't have problems with normal mobs or even elites and some champions i roflstomp them if I use my skills right, but the retarded part is when I fight 2 strong mobs and I get from full hp to 20% in 2 hits while having my survivability cds on :| especially ranged mobs that are similar to trooper I think, they have a retarded skill that deals huge dmg...but those are pretty much the only ones I am having trouble with. as for pvp, I don't really enjoy it(I didn't enjoy it in wow either)so I don't do it that often but from what I did, I noticed that none of the CCs that work on regular mobs work on players and I often find myself killed in stunlock by a sorc or operative if I don't have the cd to break cc ready...
Oh and as companion I use the third one(4th if u count the droid) she has pretty insane dmg and she has some defensive abilities so she can offtank some mobs
