    5.9 wei ssd

So, I'm about to kick in my computer screen.
I've tried almost everything, including removing the page file and yet I still get a 5.9 on my Corsair X128 SSD.
I've tried unplugging my slave drive, but it still continues to get a 5.9
    Updated the firmware. >.<

    I'm losing my mind.

    AMD FX8120 (OC 4.0)
    8GB DDR3 1866Mhz
    AMD Radeon HD6850
    Corsair X128 SSD
    Windows 7 Ultimate (X64)

WEI is a joke. My 2500K clocked at 4.5GHz got a WEI score of like 7.6 or 7.7 while a friend of mine who has a Q6600 clocked at I think MAYBE 4.0GHz got a 7.9 on the CPU.... Don't believe anything WEI tells you. The real benchmarks, i.e. highly graphics intensive games, Unigine Heaven, 3D Mark 11 and Vantage, and other bench-marking software will give you more true scores.

While that is probably the best advice for that, some people have had success in changing the driver for their SATA controller (if you're on an Intel chipset) to the Intel RST drivers from the default Microsoft drivers. Haven't bothered with it myself, I know I have a good SSD and just come to accept the fact that WEI is irrelevant anyway.

Yeah I know it's irrelevant, but I'm just one of those people, sadly.
It bugs the living hell out of me.

My lowest WEI number is 7.4, the rest are 7.9. The 7.4 comes from a completely stock i5 2300. >.>

My wei on eveything is 7.9 then my Caviar black is at 5.9 so Id assume an SSD would change that alot. However this would baffle me.

    lol so currently:
CPU is 7.5 (2500K@4.0GHz... yeah right.)
    RAM is 7.6 (1333MHz. hah.)
GPU is 7.0 (This I can believe.)
SSD is 7.9 (this could mean the SSD would be up in the 8 or even 9 range if they ever updated this crap.)

It's stock overclocked, so I bumped it up a bit for stability.

I have the exact same card as you and I didn't have to bump up the voltage. (only to heavily OC it did I have to.)

Is that a SATA II SSD?

Yeah it is, I can't Raid 0 my computer yet

Also, my board doesn't support SATA III natively. If I can find a cheap 64GB SATA III SSD then I will probably drop the money and get a better board. Odds are I am going to buy a few parts all at once in a month or so.

That shows you as having two SATA III ports. :P

lololol I paid 90 bucks for that board when I bought it. And the Gigabyte website says it supports Crossfire despite the fact that Newegg doesn't list it

Looks like I just need SATA III drives in order to run Raid 0, however if I want to optimally run a 7000 series graphics card, I will need a PCIe 3.0 board, and only two are available from Newegg in the microATX form factor with the Z68 chipset currently, not gonna bother with NCIX since their prices are higher.

I think all motherboards support Xfire since it's a free thing to include while SLI apparently is not. =L

I paid $170 for my motherboard and it doesn't support SLI... yet there are $100 boards from other companies that include SLI! Damn Asus! >_<

    I don't think PCIe 3.0 will give you a difference for a 7970... =X
