Don't grand viziers need hook noses, bald heads, and pencil thin goatees?

It's an Islamic political position, so I figured it would be fitting.

Eve and Borderlands two are consuming me. But on Tuesday the new Xcom is released. Also I have a game of Civ5 going.

I honestly don't remember that from D2, but its been years. Ever play LoD with 4 pallies? Auras are imba.

I haven't really played much for new games.

I played just about everything in D2 back in the day tough! Yeah, a buddy and I liked to roll around with a frost aura (forget the name) pally stacking that up and him playing a Sorceress and just AoEing everything into the ground.

The Grand Vizier of Chaos was one of the little mini bosses before Diablo. There were two others, then Diablo came out to party. Bonus credit for anyone that can name the others!

It's because a lot of the less-educated liberals and 20-something know-it-alls swore to god almighty that Obama was going to turn the world into a perfect socialist utopia when he was running in 2008. Now they've divided into two camps: Those living in denial ("Obama knows how to fix everything but the Republicans won't let him!"), and those who are extremely bitter over the whole thing. When Obama promised "change", these kids interpreted it as "Think of everything you want me to do and I promise I'll do it!". Now you've got OWS guys upset because Obama isn't the savior they dreamed him up to be, while everyone who had half a brain during that election is responding "No... really? I never saw that coming."

Show me these people claiming Obama is going to turn the world into a perfect socialist utopia. Fucking idiotic hyperbole is fucking idiotic hyperbole.

Let's assume, for the moment, that this is the case. Why in the world would it be a useful or reasonable means of engaging the posters on the stickied threads? I don't charge in saying, "LOLZ DENY EVOLUTION MOAR IDIOTS" even though that's actually a statistically sizeable portion of the conservative base. I was taught to give the person you're talking to the benefit of the doubt until they prove they don't deserve it.

Here's where it came from I think: http://www.wnd.com/2008/10/77539/

Addressing a large crowd behind a podium Feb. 24 with a Nation of Islam Saviours’ Day 2008 sign, Farrakhan proclaims,

“You are the instruments that God is going to use to bring about universal change, and that is why Barack has captured the youth. And he has involved young people in a political process that they didn’t care anything about. That’s a sign. When the Messiah speaks, the youth will hear, and the Messiah is absolutely speaking.”

“Brothers and sisters,” Farrakhan said, “Barack Obama to me, is a herald of the Messiah. Barack Obama is like the trumpet that alerts you something new, something better is on the way.”

  15. #9655
Man if that's all it takes liberals are really missing some rhetorical opportunities.

  16. #9656
I think you're probably right. Really though, it came from Farrakhan? Wow. I mean, if we're going to take the absolute looniest imaginable individual that sort of dimly associates with a political direction and treat their proclamations as representative then (as Wells notes), we're really missing out. Shit, Rush Limbaugh's a lot more "mainstream" than Farrakhan and he says crazier shit than that all the time.

Clearly Limbaugh does not speak for the GOP, but apparently Farrakhan speaks for the Dems, in Kalyyns world.

I'd also like to note that even Farrakhan didn't say Obama was 'the messiah' in that quote.

Yeah, I'd be inclined to note that too if I felt like parsing the speech of crazy people.

(Not saying you're wrong, it's just a who gives a fuck situation to me.)

The secret muslim guns and babies crowd. US's inclination to disliking and ridiculing intelligent people bugs the absolute fuck out of me. When a good pole of who is going to win the presidency is 'the person you most want to kick back and have a beer with', its a problem.

    Stuff like below didn't help.

My job is to be so persuasive that if there's anybody left out there
who is still not sure whether they will vote, or is still not clear who
they will vote for, that a light will shine through that window, a beam
of light will come down upon you, you will experience an epiphany," said Obama in New Hampshire , "and you will suddenly realize that you must go to the polls and vote for Obama."

It gets worse. In his 2010 book The Promise: President Obama , Year One, Jonathan Alter recounts a kind of transfiguration that occurred on Inauguration Day. St. John's Church on Lafayette Square was filled with dignitaries as well as the newly elected President and his family. When Bishop Vashti McKenzie, an advocate of black liberation theology, told everyone to rise, a rabbi in attendance described what he saw when he glanced over at Mr. Obama:

A beam of morning light shown [sic] through the stained-glass windows and illuminated the president-elect's face. Several of the clergy and choir on the altar who also saw it marveled afterward about the presence of the Divine.
