    I like how the OP doesn't mention DA2 yet a third of the posts do.

    If you want to be a part of a sweeping, epic, and personal story, buy DA. Skyrim is more of a world than a story (the main quest is blah.)

    I found Dragon Age a bit worse than Skyrim. I didn't really enjoy the combat as much, and the story didn't really interest me :<

    Dragon Age: Origins was an extremely good game, I do not think anyone should compare it with Skyrim though. They are different Games honestly, Origins' Gameplay is great, the story is extremely well done. As for Dragon Age: 2 it's not "bad", the people saying "oh it's garbage" are just bandwagon Gamers, they hear something on the internet & repeat it over & over. I was not a fan of 2 however I would not go as far to say that it was "garbage". Worth playing? Yes. Worth $60? No; however very few games are in my opinion.

    In my opinion, its blows skyrim out of the water, people will disagree , but if you mod it a bit(higher difficulty) it just destroys skyrim, skyrims is good.

    While I agree not everything about it was trash, the game still gets an incredibly low score from me. The characters and story are back in full force and until Act 3 it really feels like your choices matter and do impact the world. The Friendship/Rivalry System is downright ingenious, the story is no longer black and white and all the characters are given the opportunity to actually develop on their own. Talents are no longer linear, which is good. With all that said everything combat (you know gameplay) is horrendous. Extra enemies pop in out of nowhere to extend combat. Cooldowns are poorly handled and worse yet, it's clear this is just another attempt to extend boring combat. They felt it was a good idea to give you only 1 character with a healing spell. While Mages aren't ridiculously OP like they were in DA:O they now feel incredibly underpowered. There is no tactical difference between Easy and Hard, only boosts to the health and attack power of your enemies; Nightmare tries to make up for this, but only after massively increasing health and attack power. Many fights are overextended through NPCs using healing items or annoying tricks that allow the fight to drag on LONG after you've shown your mastery of it's mechanics (no fight is more egregious in this than the final boss of Act 2).
    Now a lot of people defend this game because, technically, it was really close to being really good; except all those little things that need tweaking add up to a mountain of poor design decisions.
    One day I look forward to seeing full grown adults realize that their averse reactions to levity and positive/contemplative expressions of emotion are a cry for therapy.

    DA = Story (in depth)
    Skyrim = Open World

    Two complete different games.

    DA:O was a fun game, but I really had a hard time only having 6 binds on the Xbox, so get it on the PC!

    As many others have said, Dragon Age: Origins is very different from Skyrim. It's not an open sandbox game; it's extremely story driven. That can be good or bad depending on what you like.

    Personally, DA:O is my favorite game of the past decade due to the memorable characters and the awesome dialogue. Would I recommend it? Definitely.

    If you decide to buy, get it for the PC.

    Dragon Age: Origins is worth it, especially considering the price you can get it for and the amount of gameplay you get, as well as the experience itself

    Not true.

    Enemies gain new abilities in harder difficulties.
