    Improvements since beta?

    I had several game-breaking issues during beta and would like to know if they were fixed in current retail:

    1. Severe memory leaks, the game tried to allocate more than 2,5 GB of RAM eventually after an hour of play or so;
    2. Long delays before cutscene start;
    3. Illegible font used for item and UI tooltips;
    4. Chat input using ANSI functions (i.e. Alt+229 will return a character depending on system default codepage, not on current keyboard layout);
    5. Chat font missing glyphs beyound Latin-1 set;
    6. Unability to change chat font;
    7. Starting zone experience imbalance: I run out of quests on level 7;
    8. Quest tracker not showing quest items;

    This issue apparently occured after retail launch:
    9. The game is marked as administrative application and requires administrator password to run. (Or is it only on NT 6+ systems?)

    10. Strange patching method: by using multipart zip archives downloading via http? I.E. no file-basis verification and download, as in NCSoft/Funcom patchers or torrent-like verivication as in Blizzard patchers?

    1. i have 6 gigs of ram 2 gigs of memeory free while it runs along with firefox and a few other programs. if you have a 1/2 decent pc it should not present a problem.
    2. haven't seen this ever.
    3. no problems reading tool tips. check your videor resolution and make sure you're running at native screen resolution.
    4. No need to use special characters so i can't say about this one.
    5. again .. i see no reason to need those.
    6. no but this is not a game breaking issue at all. again if you feel you have a problem reading the text it's more of an issue about your display configuration than game settings. (i run this on a 1080p 52" widescreen tv 1920x1080 native)
    7. haven't had this issue even in beta. on republic side i leave both starting zones at lvl 10. on sith side i leave allmost lvl 10 on sith force user/warrior and on hutta both my characters left at 10.
    8. doesn't need to. open your inventory and go to the tab where your mission items are. again NOT gamebreaking unless you're just lazy.
    9. sounds like an operating system issue than anything easle. win 7 64x and i have no issues runing the game without it requiring an administrator password.
    10. launcher downloads and installs them just like WoW launcher does.

    seems like most your game breaking issues are with your pc and it's configuration or hardware not with the game. for the launcher installed on your pc to become compromised to install anything but the required patches would mean your pc's security is compromised or not very secure. Again seems more like an issue with your software's setup.

    1) Don't have this problem personally, others might though, dnno
    2) This doesn't happen with every cutscene. Probably once out of 10 cutscenes, and the delay is a few seconds.
    3) Never seen this.
    4) Not sure about this.
    5) Not sure either... these problems seem very nitpicky.
    6) Can't change font, but can change size.
    7) Never had this problem.
    8) Quest items that you use aren't tracked, you actually have to read the quest and look at your Mission Items.
    9) Never had this problem.
    10) Torrent-like DL

    Are these problems really make or break?

    1. Never seen mine go above 4gb at all even after several hours of playing.
    2. Meh...its there...but it isn't game-breaking by a long shot. A second or two max that I've experienced.
    3. Never had this problem.
    4. Never had this problem.
    5. Don't know.
    6. Don't know.
    7. Not an issue. Earliest I've completed a toon starting zone was level 9 and the latest was level 11.
    8. Haven't had any problems with this at all. I thought the quest tracker was fairly well done.

    9. I don't have this issue.

    10. I never paid attention to it. It worked...which means it wasn't game breaking.

    It's not a question of 'I don't have this issue', it's "I'm using (WinXP|Vista|Win7|Win8) as (User|Power user|Administrator) with UAC (on|off) and I (have|don't have) this problem.

    Sorry, but I still don't see how any of them other than 1 (which doesn't really happen) and 7 (which isn't true) are gamebreaking, even if they were still in the game.

    3 was definitely a gamebreaking issue.

    I have not witnessed any of these issue described.

    AMD FX
    8gb @ 1866 (no Oc)
    Radeon 9950 w/9970 bios

    I didn't ask you to show off your system configuration. Which issues you didn't have, number by number?

    He said none of them. As in No to all 7.

    (Neverwinter) - Trickster Rogue & Guardian Fighter -

    This looks like your resolution is too low. I have a similar issue when I play on my laptop at 800x600. Although I don't really care as I'm just playing to level crew skills. When I play at a larger resolution on my desktop I don't have that issue. That being said, the patch in March is suppose to have UI scaling which will probably fix this issue.

    1) There was a leak with Taris quest tracker that was fixed several patches ago.
    2) I experienced this during the beta as well. Not so much any more. Not sure if there was a patch, or if my graphic settings are different now.
    3) see above
    4) No idea what the issue is here
    5) No idea what the issue is here
    6) Probably related to 3
    7) They updated the exp gain in starter zones right around launch so that you would be level 10 once you completed the quests.
    8) Would be a nice change, but not a big deal. Just drag the item to a free slot in your action bars
    9) This is probably more due to your system security configuration. I use to have to do this for WoW as well. But no longer have to for WoW or SWTOR.

    To answer about 4 & 5: you must use non-western (Eastern Europe, Greek, Baltic, Cyrillic or Hebrew) codepage as default and be able to type western characters while English keyboard selected; if you can only enter local character or your local characters are corrupted, that is the bug.
    Also if you see questions or empty placeholder squares instead of non-latin-1 letters, it's a bug.
    About number 9: you should not be an administator and have UAC on to answer the question properly.

    I ran into a lot of memory leaks in beta and most of them seem to be fixed.

    I still keep running into what seems to be a memory leak issue in Huttball. The game can run normally for hours and then suddenly it turns into a slideshow with choppy sounds and freezes up a few seconds later. Only the game freezes, I can still go to Windows task manager and the game seems to have grabbed 3 GB of memory together with its other process. I would report this if I knew how to log what's happening but I haven't figured that out.

    I also had cutscene delays in beta and early after launch but they seem to have fixed that in a patch.

    The starting zone experience is boosted a bit but I still annoyingly keep finding myself exactly level 9 after them when I'd like to pick up the advanced class. I have a habit of speeding through and missing some quests though...

    Tackhisis you're not acting very friendly for someone who is requesting input and help from a general forum community. Every time someone attempts to answer you (with varying degrees of incompetence,) you almost try to start an argument.

    Therefore, I'm not going to meticulously answer any of them because quite frankly, it sounds like you might need to change your attitude about the game before you find answers to your particular technical questions. And that's constructive criticism. For instance none of my characters left the starting world in Beta at level 7.

    2 and 6 are the only ones I still see. 6 isn't really needed since the font was fixed. And 2 will take time to fix, because it's there while the game loads the cutscene which is large and takes some time.

    Also, another change is next month the legacy system will be finished.

    i see all of them, and first of all, none of them are game-breakers. stop being nerdy and ejoy the game, not the fonts.

    p.s. i easily get lvl 11 on every character before leaving the planet. i do all the bonuses and stuff. zoom out the map and look at it from time to time.

    It is impossible to enjoy the game if I cannot socialize in my native language without resorting to strange orthography.

    To be precise: when I just hit 7, all quests including class one were higher level than me, so I could not progress, not that I was level 7 after starting zone (which I didn't finish).

    P.S. I cannot believe that half of Europe uses non-latin fonts and yet noone commented, positively or negatively, about 4 & 5.

    Nothing in the starting planet is even remotely difficult at level 7. Getting level 8 quest at level 7 will not "stop your progress" or if it does, this game is clearly too difficult for you.

    If your complaint really is that you got a level 8 quest at level 7, you're obviously not being serious.

    If I may be so bold, perhaps it's because nobody cares? And I say that with love.

    I'll go ahead and just comment on the ones that apply to me.

    1. Severe memory leaks, the game tried to allocate more than 2,5 GB of RAM eventually after an hour of play or so;
    Still happens, though they have been patching in some fixes. I no longer get huge leaks on Taris but Ilum gives me trouble.

    6. Inability to change chat font;
    You can change color to correspond to different channels. Dunno why you'd want to or expect to be able to change anything else.

    7. Starting zone experience imbalance: I run out of quests on level 7;
    Unless you're just not picking up the quests as you go this is impossible.
