Problem is gentlemen, it's a results business, yeah the Twins have had success in the past but there has to be a line whereby you say "ok you've relied plenty on what you did in the past" and fire the guy if he's not producing results. For examples of that see Terry Francona, two world series for the first time in the better part of 90 years and they sacked his ass without so much as a thought about it or Joe Torre, who while not technically sacked, he wasn't exactly given a contract aimed at keeping him after FOUR world series in 5 years. I don't think for what it's worth it would be right to sack Jim Leyland, Gardenhier has to be on a shaky peg though as he heads for a second straight season of sub .500 baseball.

Fire Leyland? why?!? they're in the hunt?!?!? and if they could beat the Indians without Verlander they'd be in first!!!
Acta should be worried about his job, imo. maybe the hot start last year could be written off as a huge fluke, but two years in a row to be in first for a good period of time and wind up below .500 is just horrible. it's like watching the '80s Indians, for cripes sake...

Ah yeah...
Apparently we're closing in on the 500,000th error to be committed in MLB history. 6 away right now. Could possibly happen tonight.
With Eduardo Nunez playing at short I'm surprised he didn't go for it himself!

Number 500,000 belongs either to Joaquin Arias or Jose Reyes. I can't find time stamps on the box scores.
Pretty tough error if it's Arias. The Chase Field infield is so dry/hard and the ball took a hard hop into his chest...he almost got the throw over to first in time.
It's amazing that my A's keep winning and they beat the O's for a second nite straight and ESPN doesn't even talk about them all they did was talk about the O's losing hell even on baseball tonight it wasn't about the A's winning it was about the O's losing I was like WTF and went to bed.
Difference being the A's aren't in dead ties for division lead with the New York Yankees - which the O's are despite no one really giving them a crack at the start of the season.

It's hard to argue the east coast bias for an AL West race. Nobody cares about the A's because:
1) They are second fiddle to the Giants since the mid-2000s
2) Their owners are trying to tank the team on purpose and make the city of Oakland look like it has no fans.
3) O.co is a dump.
4) They don't have a single star player. The closest thing they have is Cespedes and Reddick.
No doubt, east coast bias does exist (some of it in part due to west coast games starting at 10PM there), but in this case it doesn't really apply.
Why are we comparing them to the Orioles? Both teams are getting press for what they've done in 2012.

It just seems like the O's are getting 80percent of the TV time and the A's are not getting as much but like we said earlier probably because the O's play in the east division.
I'll go a step further to what Kidsafe said and say "they're getting press for what they've done in 2012" because we all know in 2013 it'll be back to them stinking out their respective divisions

The O's are going to get TV time because well, Sportscenter and Baseball Tonight have to be filmed for ET audiences. They usually get the Sportscenter Los Angeles studio to fill out some of late stories, but they're rarely more than short blurbs/updates. The ESPN website does a good job of covering what the A's have done this season.

Ill say thou it is hard being an A's fan even before they wanted to move the team they still traded all there good players to the yanks or sox they have felt like a minor league team since they traded the big three. They can't seem to keep a superstar and if they get one they don't lock them up long term it's been depressing but this year its been a blast and mine as well take it all in while I can.
Fucking Big Potato blows another game for the Tigers.

The prize apparently goes to Jose Reyes for the 500,000th error.
Go Marlins!
That is still an abomination, a very fruity, bright & colourful abomination, but an abomination all the same!
