Some of them look ok i guess - shame the rest of the game is the single biggest steaming pile of horses**t i have ever had the misfortune to waste £35 on. I'd have been upset to waste the time and bandwidth downloading it if it had been f2p - having actaully stumped up cash for it has pretty much put me off from ever buying anything with the Square label on it.

If I'm going to play a Final Fantasy MMO, I'll stick to FF11... at least that one was functional at launch. I honestly don't understand why Square Enix even tried to make another MMO when their first was doing at least respectably.

i have my ups and downs with square enix..

bought kingdom hearts 358/2 days to see what kingdom hearts is about, got bored soo much.

but on the other hand i have 5-6 games from them like chrono trigger and dragon quest.

Problem with super awesome ability animation : it become boring REALLY fast.

I mean look at the "monk" animation (second in the video) could you really watch this 20 times a minute ? I like my combat animation sober, because they are spammed. And having to watch an acrobatic show every 3 secondes would drive me crazy.

Nicely detailed sober animation that's what MMO need. Not super shiny WTF triple somersault with fire earthquake.

The last thing I play games for is graphical fidelity, or viscerality, or whatever the lingo is these days. As long as it doesn't look terrible, and thematics are okay, and the art style is well-developed and consistent, I care very little. WoW is a little too much on the cartoony side for me, but I can live with it.

Honestly.. if you boost the graphics on WoW to max.. they aren't terrible.. granted there are better graphical games, but you need to remember this is an MMO, not single player.

In a single player game, or a game with say, a max of 4 people.. they can go nuts, because the amount of players interacting on the screen isn't nuts... but when you got a 40v40 in AV going on, the graphics need to be weaker to be able to support the game play.

WoWs graphics are perfect for the style of game... new models would be nice, but overall the graphics are fine as is.

Basically made my post for me. Everything I've heard about this game was negative. Don't think good graphics and decent animations are going to make a boring game any less boring.

The game looks pretty, yeah you can say that but remember that FFVII was acclaimed for being a spectacle to the eye as well in terms of graphics and if that's all a game has going for it (for this game it really is) then that's not really a good thing.

Most of the effects were just as bland as anywhere else, minus the two caster spells. They did indeed look impressive, as did the rest of the graphics.

Main thing I noticed was the character with the polearm used a Jump ability that mimicked Freya from FF9

is there something wrong with that... now games can't have generic moves to start off with...... that's only one ability each class is getting 5 to 6 new skills.

to the people saying that mmo's cannot survive a console are idiots sorry. But how many mmo's are on console's again... oh one dcuo... really that's all consoles have to choose from no wonder mmo's don't survive on consoles they have nothing to pick from and dcuo is just plain crap. I will bet on my SWTOR account that 14 will not only flourish on its release on to consoles but that it will get a major comeback on pc as well. Not as much as wow but enough to make it profitable for SE... and as a fan thats all I really want. The SE team on 14 has been working day and night since the launch to completely rebuild 14 since December of last year and the plans they have comming for the game are amazing. Please take note of this link before you bash and say it will never be worth trying again.

Graphics arent only in high res textures. it makes for a much better graphical experience when you have engaging zones.

Also, saying Graphics > Gameplay, you have a few screw loose when it comes to MMOs.
