So it is a flagship contender :P for the first time we got to see AMD and nVidia go head-to-head with flagship cards that performed incredibly closely.

And with the rumored specs of AMD's next lineup of cards, they're definitely aiming for another flagship contender

Yeah, and I am sitting here with the Sandy Bridge and I'm more and more happy with that purchase 2~ years ago seeing the randomness of Ivy and now the almost assured stupid temps of Haswell. =/

The 8000 series are rebranded 7000 series for OEM builders only.

also what ivy randomness? they were quite an improvement but lots of people just are too lazy for proper cooling.

Don't mean to break up your conversations, but I just wanted to share my elation -- finally caved and purchased a 2TB HD (this one). After having only a 1TB external (with less than 30GB remaining...), that was slow, and a 64GB SSD, I have SO MUCH ROOM FOR ACTIVITIES! Hurray!

I was considering this myself, but since the great loss(my mass hdd failure) I realized I dont download that many movies and whatnot, mostly streaming from netflix these days.

    You've not paid attention.

Not all Ivy CPUs run at decent temperatures, some have big temperature issues and hit voltage-heat limits earlier than others. So yes, Ivy randomness.

Yeah, and think about it like this: delidding is not something many people are going to want to do. I'd be uncomfortable as hell, as I will bet you money that breaks the warranty on the CPU, completely. And hey, you HAD to do that, so why did you ask about randomness? You know what I'm talking about, quit buggering about.

Yeah, there is no way I'm taking a razor blade to my CPU. Not unless somebody is willing to supply a free replacement.

    you don't need a razor.
mini workbench works better + no chance of cutting the pcb.
at first it scared the shit out of me but in the end it really was just a case of needing the proper tools.
imo it is just like overclocking with the loss of warranty. (which can even be fixed if you glue it back with some black colored glue)

general point being, the whole omg cpu loses warranty and has a big chance of dying is kinda overrated.
in other news , classifieds due to arrive tommorow
that's gonna be some fun + gonna make a giveaway for whoever guesses the closest for my 1,2V max overclock. (since i'll be able to get two free splinter cell keys)

well some do 1250 out of the box and others similar to normal cards so yes it could be anything.
figured it would be more fun then getting some money for it for selling it.
