yea, the cooler is one thing that can easily be replaced. i'm hoping the 65W will help a bit with that, but i have no idea what the fans in the case or anything will be like either; we'll see tomorrow! (more likely this weekend, though, but everything should be here tomorrow at least)

I'd record the stock fan noise if I had the time

    Good luck

Yeah, the stock cooler for AMD is pretty noisy, far as I've experienced.

On a random note, how often do you guys clean (canned air) your computer? I can't recall the last time I did mine...lol.

Ugh, AMD stock cooler sounds like a vacuum cleaner.

Every 6 months or so, I clean the dust filters every months though.

A bit low, but not impossible. Remember that AMD temperatures are lower than intel.

I clean the dust filters fairly often, my computer not so much.

Once a year I take out the front 200mm filter and 5.25" filters and clean them out with water.

    That's about it

Whenever I think the front filter is looking awful with a greyish ring of dust where the fan draws in the air.

Due to the FT02... not often. I clean the dust filters every few days and that is enough to keep the components free of dust. I had the computer open for the first time in 4 months a few days ago and it wasn't even worth popping a can for.

HAHA. That isn't really what I said but I guess it works.

You should get a Dremel for that :P

Hey, So I've finally found a great deal for me and wanted to know if buying this will work it's magic with it? Have no knowledge in this. Also I have a stereo amp, but I don't think I'll need to use it with soundcard right?

  13. #3013
That's a great pair of headphones; I've ordered two already.
And yea, the DG will work.
I would advice a DX instead though; it will be able to drive it fine anyway

Great to hear! Care to explain how big is the difference between the two? Except the extra 40$ of course

  15. #3015
The DG is an amp; The DX is a sound processor. The other lack what the other has.

Sooo I already have this here. Does that mean that I can go with DX and my amp and have even better possibilities? If so, are there any cheaper and acceptable processors?

Computer for the parents so I'm seeing how the AMD stuff works. If it's a total flop I'll buy it from them and buy Intel instead. Got a nice discount on the 840 Pro ($100 after discounts / rebates)

Finally pulled the trigger on Trinity....don't fail me now!
Only thing you should've changed is a caviar blue instead of the black since apparently the latest blues outpreform the blacks. Not to mention with a SSD, they probably wouldn't notice a slightly slower drive even if it were.

Would this setup be any good?

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814125440 (299$ - Newegg.com)
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819116504 (229$ - same)
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813157298 (119$ - same)
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820233186 (50$ - same)

So that's approximately 700$. I have Antec Sonata III as the tower and a 500W power supply.. Should I buy new power supply and some cooling system if I want to overclock?

edit: Sorry posted only the links..

    - Gigabyte Geforce 660TI 2GB, graphics card
    - Intel Core i5 3570k - 3.4ghz, processor
    - AsRock Fatal1ty, motherboard
    - Corsair Vengance 2x4gb, memory.

Not bad, what PSU do you have? "a 500w PSU" doesn't suffice, we need a name

An aftermarket cooler for the CPU would be best if you're going to OC. How much do you want to spend on it?
