I'm sure its another Tauren off shoot race, they were one of the original races on Azeroth before the Sundering. It does give me hope that our Tauren brothers will look VERY nice when they update the model. I hope the mane has several styles, and look at the size of those bracers! Though I do have to wonder if they'll have female versions or just another Taunka styled where we have to imagine it isn't a female tauren.

It's been almost 8 years now, everything looks better with every expansion... but hey, what about the looks and animations of older races?

The size of the monestary isn't a surprise. I remember them saying that the buildings/instances are true to scale in the world now. So the imaginary square footage of that bulding has to be large enough to house a full size raid. I'm sure we're going to see lots or really big buildings in MoP.

They dont have to be placeholder though. They're NPCs. npcs have been wearing old gear for a while
They look great so why not use them?
Some unique NPCs will definately have their own set


as long as the new leveling gear, pvp/pve gear that players will use are new and looks good, I dont have a problem >.<

Strange way to promote their new expansion with place holder models

If you've follwed past expansions, you'd notice there is a progress of development, with some things happening before other until launch day, not until beta start day. Weapon and gear models usually come late in the cycle. Since they are also developing new race models for most old races, which is a huge undertaking, you should be surprised that they haven't gotten to weapon models yet.

They look like Taunka to my eyes. official concept art. Of course, either way they are definitely Horde. They are both wielding the High Warlord's Pig Sticker. And can anyone tell me what the symbol is on the banner on the Warcraft 3-ish hut in the back?

It looks good for a WoW engine enviroment, but c'mon son, have you never played a next gen MMO?

The screenshots DO look amazing considering how old the engine is getting, MoP may even make me want to resub

If those were, perchance, the new Tauren models... I'd be on board with that. I've been a tauren for what, seven years now? This style of model wouldn't invoke in me the "OMG BLIZZ J00 RUINT MAH CHARACTER" rage they want to avoid.

Something about that Monastery reminds me of Dragons Reach in Skyrim... still looks cool though! and definitely love the look of those (tauren/taunka?)!
