[Pokemon] Your favorite starters of each gen?

So, what are your favorite starters for each generation?

Gen 1: Charizard (my favorite starter of all and probably one of my favorite pokemon ever... although I think Gen 1 had the best starters in terms of looks)

Gen 2: Feraligatr (This one is tough because Typhlosion is a badass, but ultimately gotta go with the coolest water starter)

Gen 3: Blaziken (Blaziken was the first pokemon I ever got to level 100... I love this pokemon for some reason)

Gen 4: Torterra (The coolest grass starter in my opinion, but he didn't have much competition considering Empoleon isn't that great and Infernape is alright)

Gen 5: Emboar (honestly I think Gen 5 has the weakest starters.... I think Serperior and Samurott look completely stupid and Emboar is decent, so he wins by default)

Gen 1: Oh man, tie between Squirtle and Charmander

    Gen 2: Cyndaquil

    Gen 3: Torchick

Gen 4: I really didn't care for Gen 4, but I guess piplup was okay.

    Gen 5: Tepig

  3. #3
Gen 1: Bulbasaur and Squirtle. Don't make me choose one. (Charmander's pretty boring)

Gen 2: Chikorita (Totodile's cool too, and Cyndaquill is boring)

Gen 3: Treecko (Torchic is boring...again)

Gen 4: Piplup (Infernape is just gross)

Gen 5: Tepig (I do like Serperior, but not Samurott)

Fire starters are all lame...except Emboar and Tepig. The one in between is ugly though.

    Blastoise, Feraligatr, Swampert, Torterra, Emboar.

Most starters don't rank too high on my favorite pokemon list, but Blastoise and Torterra are some of their best pokemon.

Gen 1: Blastoise because a tortoise with water cannons in its shell is just too kick ass.

Gen 2: Typhlosion. Cool name, cool design, cool Pokemon.

Gen 3: Sceptile, although I prefer Grovyle. I dunno, I just love its design.

Gen 4: Infernape because it's what I imagine would happen if a Primeape and a Blaziken were fused.

Gen 5: Samurott because it has a sword in its armor.

    Favorite pokemon ever, though? Ninetails.

I always start with the water type. Always. They're my favorite! That and my husband always starts with fire and it's fun to be able to stomp him flat without even trying. ^_^

I love Ninetails, and all the Eevee-lutions. But I'm a big fan of foxes any way you slice it.

    Gen 3: Mudkip
    Gen 4: Piplup

The all water thing is coincidence, really. Even though water has always been one of Skelington's most favorite types.
Fire is always in third place though; the only fire ones he likes are Charmander and Cyndaquil at that. And he doesn't like any of G4's starters.

Gen 1) Venusaur, no contest, it's my overall favorite Pokémon and I hold it dear to my heart for being what made my childhood 10 times more awesome. Forever the best Pokémon.

Gen 2) Feraligatr, he is a crocodile (or alligator w/e), bulky, and totally obliterates everything once he learn Ice Punch.

Gen 3) Sceptile, quick, agile, and a grass Pokémon, he has a lazy look in his eyes which for some odd reason is appealing to me.

Gen 4) Torterra, I don't really like any of the starters of gen 4, and this is just some cheesy Venusaur rip-off imo, but it's still better than what looks like a tortured penguin and goku-zard. Gen 4 was really just sad.

Gen 5) Emboar, again, not a terrible big fan of the starters of this gen, but it had a lot of really cool Pokémon that wasn't starters. Why Emboar? Because Ganon, that's why.
