Apparently the Hemi comment got deleted.
On topic: I heard that it will not allow used games to be played, and that it won't have a disk drive. If the no-disk thing is true, that means that the only way legacy games are going to be available are through downloading. That doesn't appeal to me. Actually, neither does the no used games thing.
same website said it was both download-only with just a hdd, and that it got a blu-ray drive.
i wont buy it if its download only black ops is £44.99 still on xbl, and no used games so they can scrape all our accounts of money this console fails already

if the no disk thing is to try and stop modded xbox's nd copied games etc it wont work ppl will find a way to get game data for free on the new hdd and share it on websites for free, look how many times they have changed the disk types for xbox it went up in waves from 1-6 now its xgd3
Can somebody please tell me why it is called Durango? :\
The sad thing is that the game publishers will just say "See, no one is buying our games anymore because they are pirating them on PC" then they will begin to tack on invasive DRM into every PC game release, and it will only be the legit PC players of their games that suffer from it. That's not to mention that with their being an online only component to the systems the game companies will have free reign to put any software into their games that they want, so say goodbye to your privacy, your console is watching you.
Console makers are shooting themselves in the foot with the whole anti-used games campaign they're waging.
The main thing about the anti-used game BS is that they want to make it to where it is an online only kind of thing. I don't buy used games personally, because I do try to support the actual companies that produced them, however, I am nearly only on my Xbox when my internet is down. So, I will probably skip the next generation as well if they don't get rid of that stupid ass idea.
“From even the greatest of horrors irony is seldom absent.”
Nothing will murder the console gaming scene than by attacking used game sales. That's pretty much the only thing propping up consoles versus PC distribution services like Steam.
Consoles have absolutely no way to compete with Steam sales, and used game sales are the only thing close.
Also, removing the ability for consoles to use discs and making everything purely DD? Why the fuck wouldn't you just build a PC, then? A console that doesn't use discs is basically a PC with half its features restricted.
Supposedly its GPU is just a Radeon 6670 equivalent. You can buy that video card for as low as 60 bucks.
It won't be the same jump in quality as Xbox to Xbox 360 was.
Consolitis for PC gamers shall continue. :\
Also keep in mind this will be a end-of-2013 console most likely. This will be a 20 dollar card by then.
I understand the whole no used game thing, and sadly it's because of people pirating games and imo more largely due to the loss of money they incur from the services such as gamefly. Don't get me wrong i cannot stand the whole thing, i think it's just stupid that legit players have to pay the price because of people stealing stuff and because they don't like people taking advantage of a market for game rentals. But i do understand where they're coming from. If this happens tho you can pretty much kiss gamefly goodbye, it will have them out of business so fast, especially if Sony follows suit which is also rumored.
Consoles get away with such terrible hardware because games are heavily optimized for that specific hardware, and most TVs can't handle anything higher than like 40 frames per second anyway.
They also get away with such hardware because most people are horrifically ignorant and aren't aware you could build a PC with vastly superior components for the same price
I'm expecting actual information on it. It's pretty clear that they're working on something due to all the gaming companies hiring for "next generation games".
I'm also hoping we get to keep the same gamercard and gamerscore. Also hoping it'll have backwards capability for all Xbox games, and can play pre-owned games.
Higher frame rates, including 300 FPS, have been tested by BBC Research over concerns with sports and other broadcasts where fast motion with large HD displays could have a disorienting effect on viewers.
300 FPS can be converted to both 50 and 60 FPS transmission formats without major issues.
Owing to their flexibility, software-based video formats can specify arbitrarily high frame rates, and many (cathode ray tube) consumer PC monitors operate at hundreds of frames per second, depending on the selected video mode. LCD screens are usually 24, 25, 50, 60, or 120 FPS. Source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frame_rate
Recent games like Soul Calibur 5, Modern Warfare 3 etc. run @ 60fps on Xbox360/PS3 on any HDMI supporting TV at 1080p/720p.
As components go Xbox360 at launch had a heavily modified X1900/X1950 XT video card that costed 549$+ retail while PS3 had a modified 7800/7900GT which was around 600$ retail . At launch Xbox360 was 399$ (edit: and the Core version w/o HDD was priced at 299$) and the PS3 was 599 EUROs .
In long-term consoles have become an investment. PC components need to change every 2-3 years to benefit the new games coming out. Because the dev kits and well optimized consoles games will always look better on consoles than a computer with similar components.
Edit 2: The original Xbox360 cost Microsoft 715$ to make back then and the PS3 cost SONY around 805-840$.

WoWWiki & WoWPedia: "Challenging Shout is an AoE taunt shout that costs 5 rage and has a 3 minute cooldown (as of 3.0.2). It causes all nearby enemies to attack the warrior for 6 seconds."
TenTonHammer: Challenging Shout - The panic button! - Taunts everything in a small radius to attack you for a short time.
WoWHead: Buff - Challenging Shout - Taunted. - 6 seconds remaining
The rumors indicate that it won't be able to play used games. I think that's a large part of the reasoning behind the shift away from discs and into something else. Developers and especially publishers lose a lot of money to the used games trade.
I'm sure it'll be backwards compatible - just as soon as you buy a digital copy of your Xbox or Xbox 360 game off their streaming service, of course.
