New Release Date from GameStop

Unless the release date comes from Anet twitter/facebook/homepage it is just pure speculation on the retailers part.

vendors cannot be a reliable source for release dates. ever. it may raise your hopes, and thats cool and all, but you should do your best to avoid rumors.

Retailers have dates as placeholders. They are not official nor do the retailers have any inside information. When a release date is ready, ANet will let us know. Until then, don't believe what you hear/read unless it's from ANet themselves.

With the first open beta for gw2 coming on the 27-29 id say its farther along than i expected though. I think i might pull back from my november release to something like july / august.

Closing this. Not only are the unofficial release dates you find on Amazon/GameStop frequently incorrect, but we've had about a dozen or so threads on this (and Amazon's) topic before. There's no real discussion to be had.
