Looking over some of the panel notes... terrible. Blizzard should be adding new stuff constantly, like bi-weekly or monthly even. Compared to other ARPGs on the market this is not very honorable of the company with the largest IP in the genre and most money.

This is the kind of thing consumers should not tolerate.

So, tell me. What competitive scenes in Diablo were represented at Blizzcon this year that'd warrant a spot on the player?

So unless it's an Esport it shouldn't have a spot on the player? How about they should be adding more content and updates to the game, you know if they actually had some new stuff on the way it might of had its own section.

Tbh, i didn't expect much more from D3 panels, and i'm kinda happy with the new sets and stuff. Also, i find a good tactic to change existing legendaries making them much better instead of adding new ones only, to avoid a layer of uselss orange items that are good only for shards.

As i said, D3 is the epitome of the "log for new patch, try new stuff, put game away" game. There's nothing wrong in this, and while i know it would be better to have much more content updates, i'm fine with the current amount.

Unfortunately it's not for us to decide if the game is a success or not, with Vanilla they've nearly killed the franchise but the game now it's very far from being dead.

It has always been like this. Main Stage, Panel Stage, and then a number of tournament stages. No game has had a channel dedicated to it just for information or other stuff. It's purely tournaments. Unless they do a speed-levelling contest next time, I don't see Diablo getting its own tab then either.

aren't most of the current ARPGs using a F2P model?

No. I think there are only like a handful of traditional ARPGs which are F2P.

Other than Cains, Reaper's Wraps, Aughild's and the one with cooldown reduction what crafted items do people use?
Well, i farm on multiple characters to get the gear i want to try builds different form the "standard" ones,. I have more than 800 hours on my DH, and i still farm to get better rolled pieces. I farm to get better gear and push that additional GR level.

It's all about the goal you put yourself. And people being able to go straight to higher difficulties in a very low time is true from the old D2 days.

Also, why would you farm for trading? To get more gold so you can reroll stats on items more times? Afaik gold farming is not an issue, and until you plan to sell gold/items for real money in the old AH or through other sites there is really no reason to trade at all in Diablo.

Agree anyway that crafting needs a revamp since pretty much everything isn't useful; also don't like the fact i cannot pass items i don't need to my friends, but usually i play with them so most of the time the 2 hour window is good enough.

Who are these people on the panel? Never seen them before, they dont have answers for anything.. are they even working on this game?

What Ive come to realize is, diablo the series ended at diablo 2.
Diablo 3 wouldnt exist if blizzard doesnt care about it.

I'm super curious now. What are the supposed better ARPGs with constant update without a F2P model ?

its hard to have a real crafting system in D3 the way its set up.. Crafting in PoE is perfect because their currency is the actual crafting materials. Hell crafting in PoE is a form of end game. You can spend hours every day for weeks and still not make the perfect item. I like that. It gives you something to work towards. I dont think D3 is mean to be played hardcore. After about 3 weeks playing 8 hours a day I got bored. Once you have 4 characters geared for t6 what else is there to do? Theres no build diversity so its not like you can reroll and make something totally new. Also you cant amass wealth because they banned trading.

D3 just feels like a game meant for casuals to only play a few hours a week. Its a good game and A LOT better than it was at release. I really enjoyed playing when the Season started and it was the most fun I have had since I bought the game back in 2012. But it falls short in the longevity and replay department simply because its so damn easy to get geared and level up now.

My biggest gripe that prevents me from doing more then story mode is the hefty amount of RNG on loot acquisition in D3. Unfortunately it seems that RNG will continue to remain to "keep" people playing a single player game with multiplayer components that you buy once.

But RNG is the core of the ARPG genre. It has been like that since Diablo 1.

What the heck are you talking about? All the streams dedicated to the other games were Esports streams showing off the tournaments going on. Diablo 3 doesn't have a tournament since it's not a competitive game, so it didn't have a dedicated stream. It's as simple as that.

My only problem with the panel was even more RNG they're adding. It's good to a point, but they need something concrete, like charms or something like that instead of the ancient stuff they're adding >.>

Then I guess games like Diablo just aren't for me. I prefer a nice, steady linear progression model, not this "gear up in a day or 3 months depending on RNG" progression model.
