I think the OP is probably looking for a game that's actually available. GW2 is still in beta.

To the OP... Try looking into Fallout 3 or Fallout: New Vegas. Borderlands? Skyrim?

Seriously, if you haven't played it, the questing blows everything else out of the water. The endgame is pretty meh, but the leveling process is ridiculously immersive.

Ive played all the Elder Scrolls stuff and Borderlands and alot of others and I can tell you that 'Kingdoms of Amalur' is like all those suggested games mixed up in one ON steroids WITH the best combat ull find in an RPG to date - gogo get it, play it and thank the stars i was up and bored this late to tell u abt it.

Buy Max Payne 3. Seriously, it's an awesome game, though it probably won't last very long. Diablo 3 has kept me entertained for weeks now, so if I were you, I'd keep an open mind when it comes to that game. Maybe you could go through the Mass Effect series as well, if you haven't already? And as the other posters have said already, Borderlands is also great.

Skyrim. Game is awesome and massive. Once you explored everything and done every quest (200 hours) then you can mod the shit out of it and have even more fun.

Gotta agree, SWTOR's Endgame is ... Bad... but if you play it as a "singleplayer" games, its actully quite amazing.

Want classic era WoW (Vanilla/TBC), with more flexibility of class builds and better end game options? Rift.
Want to try something new, where holy trinity roles are removed + dynamic events replace quests + no subscription? Wait for GW2.
Want to play a solid role playing game experience with an open world and huge modding community w/ great graphics? Skyrim.

There's also some indie titles like Magicka (on sale 50% off right now on Steam) and Torchlight 2 (coming in a month or two).

I would recommend gothic series 1 and 2 + the night of the raven, 3 and 4 aren't true gothic, and then risen 1 and risen 2.

If you haven't I would recommend baldur's gate 1 and baldur's gate 2.
